5 /5 Alex Haas: Its been 10 years since our last visit to Broadstairs. Back then a pretty quiet coastal town. Now a buzzing, busy place. It changed quite a bit.
Close to the harbour and bay youll find this restaurant. Serving food all day. And dogs are welcome as well. We made a reservation to secure a table on this afternoon.
Many small plates are served here. Tapas style. The idea is to order several and share. And thats a good thing, we always enjoy this kind of thing.
Staff was nice, friendly and welcoming. It wasnt really busy, so food came to our tables quickly. Ordered Whitstable native oysters (house tabasco, lemon), Pickled ginger granita dressed rock oysters, Shrimp carpaccio/ceviche (raw), clams and the monkfish. Some Chargrilled sourdough (with potted shrimp butter) and Viking Bakehouse sourdough.
All the items were excellent. Fresh fish and seafood. Nicely prepared and presented. And as good as they looked on the plate. Shrimps was really well done, with a bit for fire in form of chillis. The monkfish was cooked to perfection. It can get tough if overdone, but this here was on point!
Prices for the location and quality of food is fair. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and views over the bay from some tables (we had a window seat). One of the best meals weve had in the UK this trip.
