Wenzels the Bakers Mill Hill - (Near Barnet, South East)

5 /5 Isabella: Delicious baguettes as usual and my favourite was the baguette of the day so only £2.50. They’re always filled nicely and made fresh to order if run out on the display window. I always choose Wenzel’s over Greggs!

2 /5 Niranjan Janardhanan: This place is generally good. Staff is friendly. Thats not their problem. Theyve started cross-contaminating their vegetarian savoury products, and so Ive had to stop eating them. At a minimum, I wish they went back to separating the vegetarian/vegan items from the meat items - they used to be separated on different levels of the hot shelves, but have become closer friends now - and also please bring back the vegetable puff pastry! Got to love the jam donut though.

1 /5 O: Panini always comes cold.. Im a regular customer and the last 2 months they have been stone cold when they have arrived. I have specifically asked them to cook it for longer to ensure it isnt cold. Instead I have to heat it up myself. This last order was the final straw, it came cold and undercooked (the outside wasnt even slightly browned) Sort it out wenzels, if youre staff arent resentful and rude when you go into store the food is sub-par. Oh and the sausage roll was cold and old. Last time I will shop here. Greggs is way better when it comes to customer service.

1 /5 Yo Ya: I went in today and asked if they did vegetarian TGTG bags. The man replied they didnt do HALAL. I said I didnt need HALAL, Id asked about VEGETARIAN bags. In what universe can anyone confuse those two words? If I was white would he have said it? Did he make an assumption based on the fact Im brown skinned?. When he eventually answered my question he was barely audible and spoke the usual poor english. He also said they include donuts but not the cakes which were kept covered and a bit more appetising. So we effectively pay them to be garbage disposals of stale, low cost items, which have sat out all day and are overpriced to begin with. Ive also noticed all their stores have the same nasty odour, which is odd given most bakeries smell nice. Wenzles smells like Jewish bakeries, with their distinct bad smell, that highjacks your nose for the rest of the day.
