Ye Olde Smugglers Inne - (Near , South East)

5 /5 Sally: I was against the clock and requested for a speedy scampi and chips. It arrived 5 minutes later and was both delicious and beautifully presented at a reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere with helpful and friendly staff. I highly recommend a visit.

5 /5 Paul Monnickendam: We went to Alfriston which is a lovely village and stumbled upon Ye olde smugglers inne. We didnt want a massive lunch so had a starter. The young lady who served us was so attentive and welcoming. We both ordered the whitebait. We went to sit in the lovely quiet garden. It arrived quickly with a side of chips. Both were piping hot and very tasty. Overall, great food and excellent service.

5 /5 Nick Rau: As a group of 15 walkers we arrived at the pub for our pre-ordered meal and were served almost immediately - much better than the extended wait weve experience elsewhere. in advnce I was a bit disappointed the veggie option was beetroot goulash - i dont really like beetroot - but when it arrived it was delicious!!! and a really health pub meal :-) (though a bit more peppery next time please - though of course you can add your own).. And they were happy for other colleagues to swap to a nut roast which hadnt been mentioned online, and which was much better than at many other pubs. Reasonable prices too. (a couple of the other dishes didnt look too exciting, eg the scampi, and teh onion bhaji burer) only complaint - the online menu was out of date. .

1 /5 james howard: Tried booking a room here for myself and a friend but was unable to do so as the website as down for maintenance (no problem). Called to book over the phone and was told that they couldnt do it over the phone and I would have to wait for the website to be back up in a few days. After a few days website was still down so I called again to try book over the phone but again was told no. When I queried why not the reaction I got was as if I had asked for something completely ridiculous. I then asked if it was possible to speak to a manager or landlord and was told they were not available but to leave my name and to also email them about the room I wanted to reserve. Emailed the landlord but never received a response or a phone call. I never leave bad reviews on here but the service was so abysmal I really felt compelled to. Why it was made out to be such an impossibility to book a room over the phone is beyond me and frankly ridiculous and especially as pubs up and down the country are supposed to be struggling you would think they would be grateful for the business. Shame as it looked lovely
