Gayathri Gopal I had a wonderful experience at Botanist Reading. The ambience was amazing and the food was really good – the lamb kebab, in particular, was excellent. A special mention to Vivianne, who was very attentive and explained everything in detail, making the experience even better. Great service overall! 5 stars for sure!

Joe Audcent Really enjoyed the Thai Green curry, which they were happy to swap aubergine for peppers which I was pleased about and shows the food is freshly cooked to order. Very friendly service and the banana fritters were delicious. Haven’t had these for years so such a nice treat! With the friendly service, the very clean and comfortable dining area and so many dishes to choose from this has to be one of my favourite Thai restaurants.

M Palmer This place has got to become a staple for me! Excellent food, made fresh in front of you, and was easy to order. The free toppings station is a bonus, considering so many restaurants these days charge extra for sauces. Lovely atmosphere and very affordable food, especially with blue light discount and being part of the free ‘marugame club’. It’s also fantastic if you’re on a calorie deficit as the portions are very generous whilst being fairly low in calories and high in protein. I got the regular beef nikutame udon and had to take half of it home as it was so filling! (Takeaway pots are easy to help yourself to next to the toppings section). Would recommend to anyone!

H L-J Ive been eating at Afghan Flavours, Reading for circa 18 months now. I was introduced by my sisters friend and have kept coming back on my own, with a my sister or in small groups. Its very reliable, tasty, fresh and hot food. Family friendly. Very reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. You can see the kitchen from the counter too. Other reviews mentioning service speed need to show some patience. Freshly cooked and prepared food takes time and this is an increasingly popular establishment. I would describe as cafe style eating. Whether its the Channa Daal, Houmous, halloumi, chicken byriani, Qabuli chicken/lamb, chicken/lamb charsi karahi, Afghan style red kidney beans, Chaplin kebab paties, chicken or lamb or mixed tikka or lamb kofta - I recommend all. For drinks would recommend mint or green tea (loose tea) or mango lassi (glass or jug) or a fresh juice. I prefer to eat in, but take away is also available. A friendly and hardworking team. Flynn Davies This place is such a hidden gem. Staff went above and beyond to make our (annoyingly) specific order. It has lovely vibe with a cosy rooftop terrace to enjoy an ice cold pint and delicious giant pizza slices. I cannot recommend this place enough!
