5 /5 Vicky Harris: Allergy customer review … Wow just wow ! We came recommended as a coeliac safe Chinese restaurant. (Our child has coeliac disease). Lots of choice on their gluten free specific menu even battered items so they use a non wheat flour. We all ate mainly gluten free and tasted just the same if not even better than our normal wheat Chinese TA. (Just to add my child didn’t have a reaction from heating here so the proof is in that) I have a nut and sesame allergy … I didn’t expect to eat here, but I felt safe and they guided me to what was safe. I decided to take the risk and thankfully I didn’t have a reaction! Atmosphere was great, friendly and staff were kind to the children. Tables are absolutely beautiful wood with spinning inner circle. Overall we all came away full, healthy and very grateful happy customers! Thank you Five Spice … we will be back !

5 /5 Meg Grabas: Mainly and most importantly: Food hygiene 5 star And food was fresh! I had only 2 boxes of takeaway (rice + noodles) Very good. Slightly bland. But overall positive experience! My recommendations: please provide quality foil or paper boxes for takeaway- please discontinue plastic. Thanks!

5 /5 Christopher Dias: Excellent local restaurant in the town centre. Great quality food and really friendly staff. Had the Cantonese set menu for two, good selection of starters including spring rolls and spare ribs. Also came with duck pancakes and mixed fried rice, crispy shredded beef, prawns, garlic vegetables and lemon chicken. Very tasty and will definitely be back.

2 /5 Dani May-McCallum: We ordered a Take away. Food was disappointing Sauces were thin and watery Duck wasn’t crispy Crispy chilli beef wasn’t very nice. Basically just tasted of onions and had a very thin sauce

2 /5 A Fowles: Not very good food but served very quickly and by friendly staff. The restaurant is quite big and spacious, plenty of big tables. Good for all group sizes. Staff are very friendly and helpful and nice in general. Food arrived very quickly, literally about 3 minutes after ordering everything came. It was rather disappointing tho, pretty bad flavours and just not that tasty. Such a shame! The beef was all rather chewy and not very nice cuts, the noodles we over cooked and served with dry pieces of meat, tsu mai were also over cooked and not very nice meat inside. Hotpot was ok, just pretty average.
