What Clients Are Saying Rutherford Dining Hall (GG)
5 /5 Rob Hodges: Absolutely delicious meal - and really affordable too!
2 /5 ParallelBasin: Tried the BBQ chicken wings with chips from the £3.50 Savour Range. Menu was quite limited (and differed from what the app said was available), though it is intended to be a saver menu. The two wings were relatively small, and some chips were harder and more undercooked than others. Nothing was particularly warm either. It was okay but I didn’t leave feeling fuelled up.
Salad/coleslaw was an additional £0.50. A few sauce bottles available in different quantities. Can only imagine all of this is a reflection of the university’s financial situation.
As for Rutherford College and the canteen itself, it’s definitely very outdated and bare-bones. At the least I’d say the dining hall should be brighter and more inviting.
4 /5 Christopher Newsham: Yeah, its pretty good. Well priced food, good atmosphere and overall a decent place to study or eat. Wish they put the piano out more often though.
5 /5 Japninder Singh: Ive been there yesterday for the very first time.
The ambience is amazing - you have a plenty of sitting space. Quality of the food is decent enough. Id rate 4/5.
Ive tried their Katsu Chicken with rice and gravy.
Note: if you are looking for something spicy you might be disappointed.
Overall a great experience Id say.
Ranger Michael J “Bulldog” Of the years of going to Canterbury, Ive never been in here. Now thats where we head! We always went in to the other wetherspoons at the top of the city.
We head for Canterbury quite a bit & always start with a breakfast.
The west gate is smaller, but much more friendly. Theres less "hustle & bustle" too. Although the food is similar, Ive noticed its hotter?
A really nice little Spoons in our mind.
William Dorrington A great place with fantastic service.
I went here recetly with a good friend so some delicious refreshing alcoholic Beverages!
Not only were the bar mixologists fantastic they knew how to make the most phenomenal, and deadly, drink with Absinthe. I do not remember much after but I so remember I had a fantastic time at The Falstaff!
B K L Best fish and chips in Cantebrury. Both in store and delivery was perfectly cooked fish and chips. Crispy, fluffy and not greasy at all.
Have tried nearly all fish n chips, but this is definitely my favourite.
Janice A We dropped in for lunch on a Saturday, and although it was busy and we hadnt booked, the staff were very accommodating and found us a table. The food was excellent: margherita pizza for me, and burger & chips for my partner (gluten free!). Speedy service, lovely staff, great food.
