5 /5 Carla Oshaughnessy: We held my Sister’s 50th birthday meal /party there last night for 30 of us, we booked the whole restaurant ! The staff couldn’t do enough to help. The meal was amazing, we pre booked and there wasn’t a single issue with the food orders, all came out together and was delicious, the portions are also very generous. The staff all worked really hard. We all had a brilliant evening and my sister had the best 50th. We will def be booking future family parties with The Crown again soon.
5 /5 lee stevens: We booked our stay at this 17th century pub on booking.com an hour before we arrived. Donna checked us in who was great explaining all about the set up and how we can come and go with the key and the night door. I had a beer in the pub in the afternoon, (plumb porter ÂŁ5.30) which was very nice.
Evening meal in the restaurant was better than I expected for pub food, more like a proper restaurant. Clare was the manager on duty who couldnt do enough for us. Very attentive. Its a lively village pub with plenty of characters that made me feel welcome. Kat was serving behind the bar who was very friendly and gave me the history of the pub and the connection with Dr Who and the WW2 band of brothers. I slept well with little noise from downstairs.
The breakfast in the morning perfect, proper butchers sausage and quality bacon, not supermarket quality. Sharon served us tea coffee and juice and couldve had cereals and yogurt too. In all a great place to stay and we will return next year. I name checked the staff so the manager knows that they do a great job. Well done all.
5 /5 Dan Matthews: An Excellent village pub with fantastic atmosphere.
Food was great and made with local ingredients which makes it even more special.
Our room was very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was, like dinner, made with locally sourced ingredients and very delicious.
Dogs are also very welcome here.
We thank the staff for making our stay here very pleasant and welcoming.
1 /5 Summer Weston-blake: Would never recommend to anyone that wants a pint or to go in and have a nice day out. The workers were rude and miserable . They were staring at everyone while drinking drinks and rushing us. This was probably the worst pub ive been in. I felt uncomfortable
James Crook Food is fantastic, the chicken shish is beautiful and the lamb doner very good. The salad isnt just an add-on either, its fresh and good. Quick delivery and the website is easy to navigate.
Olena “Excellent experience at The Palm Indian Restaurant. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was delicious, full of authentic flavour, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Aileen and John also provided helpful advice on dishes, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended.”
Jack Murphy Im not normally one for leaving revues but i believe in credit when its due. I just collected a rather large order for take away. I actually made a mistake with my order and the owner went out for his way to rectify that free of charge the food was exceptional everyone was so happy with what they had ordered. The takeaway orders are a reasonably decent amount for the price. So all in all a very satisfying experience. Would recommend and will definitely be back. Thanks guys
Jon Townsend We had Sunday lunch at the Bell and it was a delight. Large portions of incredibly tasty food both meat and plant based. Good service and lovely village it sits in. Would recommend.
