3 /5 Alex Steer: Lovely location in Hurley. Beautiful village and just walk straight down to the river and enjoy a really stunning walk to Henley on Thames, around 10km each way.
Fairly nice stay but something just not quite right. I dont want to put people off The Olde Bell as it really isnt bad but just little things mean it just isnt quite great either.
Nice friendly and polite staff but they should probably train check in guys with what to communicate as part of check in (standard stuff, rules, breakfast times etc)
Nice room, although can see minors areas beginning to need a bit of TLC too. Room not cleaned very well (pics below) and although this doesnt really matter, our room wasnt turned up at all throughout our stay. Which again, doesnt really matter but just doesnt quite feel great.
Breakfast is what youd expect and done to a great standard with lots of selection. Binning the coffee machine and serve drinks would be the best improvement here.
All in all, pretty and would stay again. Just minor details stopping the Olde Bell being great.
