Top Cuvée Highbury - Islington

Rating: 4.4 /5
Kerry Rhodes Outstanding food. Delicate flavours that work perfectly together on the autumn menu and by far the best tarte citron that I’ve ever had. Really interesting wines and the staff really knew what they were talking about. A superb night out! Our waiter Nick was brilliant!

Rabieng Thai Home Kitchen - Islington

Rating: 4.4 /5
Catherine Roberts I recently booked Rabieng kitchen to host a lunchtime celebration for my birthday. Prior to the event I was able to pick a menu to suit my guests, we organised starters, mains and desserts. I was able to cater for a large group with dietary requirements and everything felt very easy and effortless to arrange. The restaurant was the perfect backdrop for decorations that I brought along. The staff were so kind and very welcoming. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. All my friends really enjoyed the meal and overall we had a lovely day out.

Beam - Islington

Rating: 4.8 /5
Dario Ferro Beam Coffee It’s not just a beautiful place, but one that perfectly combines atmosphere, quality, and hospitality. The staff is highly skilled and friendly, making you feel at ease right away. Homemade desserts, croissants, and sandwiches make for an excellent breakfast. Of course, the menu is very diverse: Full English Breakfast, Mediterranean Breakfast, Vegetarian Breakfast, and more. You’ll find everything you could wish for. A coffee shop that’s perfect for meeting friends, studying, or holding business meetings, with a calm and relaxing atmosphere in a very modern setting. It also offers accessibility to coffee and restroom facilities for those who use a wheelchair. Highly recommended.

The Beach Hut - Islington

Rating: 4.3 /5
Quy Anderson This place is a gem. Cash only, but don’t let that put you off. There’s a couple of cash machines less than a minute away. Really lovely fish and chips. It’s so rare to find a chippy that understands how batter should be. Fish and chips were cooked to order. Batter, light and crispy as it should be. Fish was lovely and fresh. Chips. Love how chunky they were. You can tell how clean the oil was just from the colour of the chips. Really nice and crispy coating. Staff were friendly and lovely.

GAILs Bakery Barnet - Barnet

Rating: 4.2 /5
Yosmary Pestana I’ve spent a lot of time at Gail’s in High Barnet during my maternity leave. As a new mum, finding places that genuinely feel welcoming and practical can be surprisingly difficult, but Gail’s really stands out on the high street. It’s one of the few coffee shops locally with accessible bathroom facilities for mums with babies, including a proper baby changing facility. That alone makes such a difference. Every time I come in with the buggy, the team are kind and helpful. They often open the door for me when they can and have never once made me feel awkward or uncomfortable about bringing the pram inside. Sadly, that hasn’t been my experience everywhere on the high street. Some places make you feel like arriving with a baby and buggy is an inconvenience, almost as though you are a liability rather than a paying customer. Gail’s is the complete opposite. The team are warm, welcoming and understanding, which means so much during those early months when even leaving the house can feel like an achievement. On top of that, the food and coffee are consistently great, and the café is always clean and comfortable. It has been a lovely and reliable place to spend time, meet other mums, or simply enjoy a quiet coffee. Well done to the team at Gail’s High Barnet. You have created a space that genuinely welcomes mums and babies, and it does not go unnoticed.
