5 /5 Ricky Rosé: Velma’s is hands down the best Caribbean shop around, and it is the only place I go nowhere else compares. I have been coming here since I was little, and they have never disappointed; the food is consistently outstanding and easily a 10/10 every single time. Their patties, in particular, are in a world of their own so flavorful and perfectly made that you will genuinely get addicted after the first bite. On top of the incredible food, the owner I assume or the gentleman at the till is extremely friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. The service goes above and beyond, a clear 20/10, and Velma’s will always hold a special place in my heart.

4 /5 Rob: Would be five stars but I’ve never been into another Jamaican shop so I can’t compare to others however this place is definitely somewhere I’d visit again if I was in the area. The guy in there was so chilled out and very friendly and happy to help as I didn’t know much about the food and culture. To be fair I thought it was under priced for what I had but I don’t understand what the going rate for a beef Jamaican patty is with a dumpling and a cake with a ginger beer as it came to less than a fiver.
