George Roper A very cosy restaurant where most of the seating is in booths. The food is fantastic, with generous portions served by friendly staff. You need to book in advance, as this place is very popular.

Wes Parker Delightful. I found this jewel using Google maps after leaving the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was a little confusing at first, as it was inside the Rembrandt Hotel. To add to the confusion, the actual restaurant was closed but the bar was open. I took my chances, and ordered fish and chips from the bar. The person who took my order was extremely friendly and I waited in a very comfortable chair at a small table. When the food came out, it was piping hot and looked marvelous. Looks were not deceiving. It was delicious. Whats more, the chef came out to see if everything was okay about 10 minutes after I was served. I am from the United States and my idea of fish and chips was what they serve at Captain Ds. In many ways, this was very similar. The battery was nice and crunchy and the fries were like steak fries, not potato wedges. The English peas were very tasty as well. I rounded out the meal with sticky toffee pudding.

Manuel Faju Starboy Restaurant is absolutely immaculate! I thoroughly enjoyed the palm wine and the meat platter. The quality, especially of the meat, was outstanding. As a Nigerian, I’m usually very picky and only trust my mum’s cooking, so I was sceptical at first. But this food completely surprised me. The flavours just kept coming and every bite was delicious. The chef is clearly extremely talented, and I would highly recommend Starboy to anyone. Whether you’ve never tried Nigerian food before or you already love African cuisine, this is the perfect place to experience it. And let me say it again: the meat platter is an absolute banger!

Ryan Walker One of the best burgers I’ve had (The Boring Burger Signature). Very well balanced and you can taste the freshness of the produce. I will definitely be going back to try some of the other burgers. Staff were excellent and food came in good time considering how busy it was. Only downside was because it was so busy it was a little cramped and there was a lack of indoor seating but they are moving to a new spot soon so I believe this problem will solve itself.

SD 4.5/5 Akara has been on my list for about a year so I was so excited to go and try it out. It really did live up to the hype! Everything I tasted was delicious and what elevated the experience was getting to try so many new flavour combinations. I haven’t had a meal as intriguing as this in a long time. The service was also great, our waitress was so friendly and able to help us decide what we wanted to order. We had the prawn Akara which came with a rich spicy Senegalese sauce that paired beautifully together. We also had the lamb dibi (if you love lamb this is a must try), beef yaji, Lagos chicken, grilled pork and efik rice. The pork was so tender and with the yam sauce, I was fighting myself to slow down and enjoy the dish properly. The rice was moist and flavourful, if you’re hungry I would recommend getting a portion each. We had the warm plantain cake for dessert that tasted like a lighter sticker toffee pudding. I only wish the portion was bigger, it was gone too quickly My only negative points would be it was cold in the restaurant! I was admittedly in a backless dress so bring a cardigan if you’re planning to dress up. I also found it a little noisy due to the chatter reverberating off of the high ceiling. Other than that, I’ll definitely be back in the future to try the other dishes.

Julia Johnson This was one of the best Chinese/Thai I have had. Everything was perfect. It wasn’t salty like other Chineses in the area. I had duck chow mein,egg fried rice, vegetable spring rolls, chicken hong kong style, chicken pad Thai noodles and curry sauce.
