4 /5 S R: Mutton curry loaded fries 10/10!!!
Came across this place on TikTok and their loaded fries did not disappoint.
It’s a grab and go place, not one to sit inside unless you’re munching quickly.
Great value, great portion sizes. Their menu has a wide variety. Should also try the chicken shawarma roti wrap. The biriyani is very standard. Rolls aren’t filled with too much mutton but it was nice and crispy.
Plenty of parking on the side roads. Options for vegetarians as well. They also do Lamprais on Sundays only.
3 /5 Mary G: Average, to be honest. I went because of the reviews and had the butter chicken loaded fries, which were quite nice. I ordered the ceylon chicken curry and felt it lacked flavour. I had a side of rice which was cold and seemed to be reheated. Im very fussy with rice and did not enjoy. The mutton roll was nice..I didnt feel wow and I didnt feel like its on my list to return. Its average and prices are reasonable and the staff are welcoming and polite. Just not for me.
5 /5 Methusan Mohanadas: Always my go to place. The food is really affordable and full of flavour, well-spiced, and consistently good all the time without fail. The staff are amazing, always welcoming, and the place has a really homely, comfortable feel. Proper comfort food done right. Can never go wrong with them always doing it right
5 /5 cat p: Hidden gem recommended by a local. Oh man definitely going back. The food is cooked fresh & spiced just as I like it. I will work through the whole menu!. We had mutton rolls -crispy & hot. 3 x big stuffed balls - 1 of each flavour - banana, coconut & daal, potato & onions so flavorful.
Mains were Mutton curry with coconut rice. Nice portion sizes & more importantly, fresh - be prepared to wait. Grand total of £13!!!! easily fed 2 adults.
Go - you wont be disappointed & support local.
Slightly disappointed as i forgot to get a dipping sauce, which should usually be given with the bhaji.
5 /5 dennis parker: Absolutely amazing food at Spice Ceylon! Authentic Indian and Sri Lankan flavours, everything is fresh and beautifully prepared. Both dine-in and takeaway are excellent. The chef and staff are very humble, helpful, and courteous. Highly recommended – a must-try!
S Swali Theres a reason why they say you get what you pay for! Came all the way from Edinburgh and I would come back just for the food! Fresh quality meat , very flavourful , fresh salad and rice and naan were lovely! Staff were polite on the phone , best restaurant in town!
Michael Anthony Wow! This is my favourite kebab shop in the area!
I love the fact their portion size is generous, the chicken is tender & nicely seasoned, the salad is always fresh & the chilli sauce is hot vs others in the area being just mild. Also they’ll happily serve crispy chips.
Very impressed & this will continue to be my 1st choice. Thanks team.
Alex I’ve had two meals from here, and they’ve both been delicious. The fried dishes are crispy, the sauces tangy and not too sweet, and the prices great. The staff are very friendly and service is quick. My new local!
