5 /5 David Villars: Late booking for a Sunday roast and the staff couldnt have been better, even accommodating our dog who needed a bowl for their dinner. Huge portions and very tasty. Friendly staff, quick and attentive, plenty of menu choice and lots of free parking.
5 /5 Natalie Ambler: I brought my family for a meal as they were visiting from out of town. Having previously stopped by for a drink and we saw other people’s food we couldn’t wait to try and it didn’t disappoint. Although the menu is quite extensive every dish was hearty, well prepared, fresh and flipping delicious. Highlights were Chicken Supreme & Lasagna. Staff are lovely to chat to and although it was someone’s first day we couldn’t tell- she double checked any questions we had and her service was brilliant. We’ll be back!
5 /5 wayne hemmings: Went for a Sunday roast and then could not help myself and order the beetroot pakora curry, tarka dhal curry. It was amazing and would say its the best curry I have eaten. Truly shocked how good it was. Wife have the vegi roast, star of the show was a Yorkshire pudding that was half the size of the plate. Portion size was amazing and left with a doggy bag.
5 /5 Nick Starling: Stopped here for a meal on the way to ferry port at Newhaven. Beautiful 15 century inn with loads of lovely features. Great friendly atmosphere and very welcoming staff. Extensive menu with plenty of tasty options. Husband had the burger which was delicious and I had the Onion Bhaji Curry which was amazing. Both had a dessert which was also lovely. Reasonably priced as well. Would certainly go again when in the area.
4 /5 Alex von der Becke: Lovely roast chicken main with tender meat and nice selection of veg but fruit crumble pudding was spoilt by hard, chewy bits in topping.
Caitlin OConnell I had this burger today at Abyss - honestly delicious. I even got a cheeky bit of nacho cheese sauce with my chips. Thank you, this made my day ❤️
Yoon Kris (CAPPU’S PAPA) The food was quite average — not amazing, but not bad either.
It’s a good place to come when there aren’t many lunch options around.
It was nicely presented and felt clean and tidy, which I liked.
Jack & Jess Brivio The best wedding food ever!
We are so glad we booked The Secret Restaurant for our wedding. So many guests have said it was the best wedding food they have ever had (we agree!) The food really was amazing and we loved the sharing concept so people can help themselves, it felt so relaxed and the food was perfect for a summer wedding. The portions were generous too which is important at weddings as people are there for such a long period of time so it was nice that everyone was so well fed. The team were all great on the day too.
Nicola was so helpful on the lead up always quick at responding to emails, and our food tasting day was such a lovely experience. Thank you again!
Nigel B What a lovely find on a Tuesday in Lewes. Nice warm welcome and we had the best seat in the house. Nice atmosphere, music was nice and chilled as well. Popadoms came with a coconut paste which was amazing. Dhansak and a masala for the main course with a Peshawari nan, fantastic taste and flavours
lou burrows Fantastic find. Was in a rush and asked waitress if I could have something fairly fast. Jacket potato and beans and cheese with delicious salad. I asked for takeaway box as running out of time. Fantastic waitress, great food and service.
Jacqui Wallis We have visited several times as a family. We have enjoyed amazing Sunday roasts. My son enjoyed a steak burger, I loved the salad with goats cheese, we had the special of mussels and we really enjoyed some oysters. Really excellent quality food, reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere, dog friendly. Highly recommend.
