4 /5 Jefferson Boss: One of West Draytons top 10 tourist attractions and easy to see why! Standing at 3 metres tall this magnificently preserved 19th century water pump would have originally been used to fill the tanks of steam traction engines! A thought provoking reminiscence of an obsolete method of travel from a bygone era; a stark contrast to the incessant screaming aircraft overhead.
Lost a point as it, disappointly, doesnt actually pump any water. Also beware, the enthusiastic queues to see the pump can be fairly long early in the morning (see photo).
