Shasain Small Definitely my favourite Japanese restaurant which I go frequently when I want Japanese foods. Foods are consistently fresh and delicious (including the sashimi), with a great variety of menu selection. Staff and chef are very friendly; the restaurant is really clean and cosy. NB: I ate half of the takoyaki before filming, ie original portion size was double of whats shown in the clip. Starters: -Nasu Dengaku (aubergine in miso sauce) -Takoyaki -Sweet potato croquettes Mains -Seared salmon roll (prawn tempura centre) -Grilled black cod with rice -Salmon sashimi x2 portions -Chu set (sashimi) Highly recommended to anyone who would like to have Japanese foods.

What really makes this place stand out though is the service — the lady there is always so kind, welcoming, and patient, even when it’s busy. I tried their beef burger meal, which was part of their amazing student discount offer only £5, and it was genuinely one of the best deals I’ve ever come across. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, with that rich smoky taste you can only get from a woodfired grill. The portion size was generous, and the fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned a complete, satisfying meal that felt like a real treat without breaking the bank. The staff were another highlight of my visit. They were so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, creating a really warm and relaxed atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I felt appreciated as a customer, and their positive energy really added to the overall experience. It’s always refreshing to see staff who clearly enjoy what they do and take pride in making every guest feel comfortable. Of course, I couldn’t leave without trying their woodfired pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. The crust had that perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness, with the signature smoky flavor that comes from a traditional wood oven. Every bite was full of fresh ingredients and rich, authentic taste. Overall, Woodfired Farnardo Pizzeria is a hidden gem in Hendon great food, unbeatable prices for students, and wonderful people.
