Kevin Coaker We were wowed by nearby Café Cecilia earlier this year, so were excited to try INIS for our anniversary dinner. For a dark autumn evening, Hackney Wick was surprisingly lively, and the team at INIS kindly found us a spot for a pre-dinner drink when we arrived 45 minutes early. First off, the three staff on duty were absolutely lovely - friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The food was fantastic, with the Irish influence shining through in all the right ways. I had the winter salad, while my wife’s duck starter was just as tempting. My John Dory main was sublime, and the wine list full of interesting options - we chose a lovely Vernaccia from Tuscany. We’re already keen to return to try the Sunday lunch once winter properly sets in.

A R I tried the Korean wings, Algerian wings, and the smash burger meal, and the whole experience was solid from start to finish. The Korean wings had a sweet and spicy glaze that sticks just enough without getting messy, and the flavor builds with every bite. The Algerian wings were completely different but just as good, with a spicy, tangy and smoky taste that keeps you going back for more. The smash burger meal delivered exactly what you expect from a good smash burger. The patty had crisp edges, the cheese melted perfectly into it, and the seasoning felt just right. The fries came out hot and fresh, not soft or stale, which made the meal even better. Service was quick, the staff were attentive, and the food arrived fresher than expected. The place was clean, comfortable to sit in and had a relaxed vibe even though people were coming and going. If you like wings packed with real flavor and a smash burger that truly delivers, this place is worth a visit. I would come back again just for the wings.

David davan y I had a wonderful time at Polentina with a friend and her baby. As soon as you walk in you’re met with an engulfing smell of what is on the menu that week and a nice, calm atmosphere with a huge glass window that looks onto the factory they’re located in. I’ve never been in such an unusual yet inviting place before. They were so accommodating and gave us the biggest table so we had space for the buggy. Alongside this excellent service, the manager Sebastiano chose some of the highlights for us and we enjoyed them alongside some refreshing natural white wine. I’ve never had calf’s brain before but it was so soft and light despite it being deep fried.

shai zach A great combination of a good pub and excellent Thai food. There are lots of interesting beers on draft and the service is really quick and efficient. The Thai food is extremely good. We absolutely loved the Jantaburi pad Thai it was full of plump perfectly cooked prawns and lots of interesting flavors and textures, its a brilliant dish. We also enjoyed the lamb maasaman curry and red curry sirloin. Excellent food, great pub, lots of space inside and out, highly recommended

Lorraine Kashdan Really nice atmosphere. Its wheelchair accessible although the entrance is at the back and the back doors were closed, but locals sprang to the rescue and we were in! Two of us used wheelchairs and it was manageable though for two powerchairs it would be awkward and due to how busy it gets, the staff were not the most forthcoming. The Sunday dinners were as expected. There was pleasant livr music. The accessible toilet was easy enough to get to, though strictly speaking not that accessible, if youre not ambulant and have no carer and you have a chair longer than the q300r, then you cant use it! Plus the throughfare was blocked with a large plant, which is fine if for example youre with friends, are fine talking to the management and dont also have autism. From a neuro diverse point of view its not suitable because of the windows being at the same level as the tables causing noise refraction. Overall I loved the place and would go again, they just need to bear in mind that if its advertised as disabled access then doors need to be left open, signage would be helpful and blocking entrance or exit points with heavy plant pots isnt great. Otherwise - see you next time!
