Caleys Restaurant Windsor - (Near Berkshire, South East)

3 /5 C. K.: Overall, a fair experience. Reserved a spot for afternoon tea. Stood there for a good ten minutes before turning to leave, and thats when someone emerged. Ordered the festive afternoon tea. Customer service was I was seated was decent. The afternoon was filling. I enjoyed the sandwich and the red berry tea. The scones were warmed and tasty with the jam and cream. The savory sausage rolls were a nice addition.

2 /5 Eric and Rebekah: We have had many teas throughout the years but we have never had the service make us feel as though we were a nuisance. The waitress came to our table twice. We sat for 10 minutes after being seated before she returned. She never checked on us during the duration of our visit. When we were finally served, she seemed ill prepared in telling us which sandwiches were which and the desserts. The sandwiches were tasteless, and the desserts were dry. Our teas were good, but cooled off so much within 15 mins that the sugar wouldn’t dissolve. The atmosphere was dark. This restaurant serves lunch as well. We were the only people here for 30+ minutes and no one else came in.

4 /5 C Tedesco: Had an evening meal here (fish and chips) and it was pretty good overall. I just wish they had some better draft beer options…

5 /5 Joshua Chan: Went there for tea. Had a great experience. Staff was attentive and catered to our every want and need. Food was great, especially the scones and tea.

1 /5 Ashutosh Dikshit: I am normally very forgiving while providing restaurant reviews, but Caleys was disappointing every step of the way. I called a week in advance informing of my dietary choice (nothing needed changing from their standard menu but I did say it would be nice if they could make a mixed veg Makhani instead of the Cauliflower Makhani on their standard menu. No promises made but I was good with Cauliflower Makhani too). I was drawn towards the Michelin star branding that inspired their menu. When we arrived and placed the order, got told 15 mins later that the restaurant had run out of Cauliflower! (The only vegetarian Indian dish on the menu was Cauliflower Makhani!) - I asked them to substitute it with any of the veggies such as peppers, carrots etc. in a makhani style. What I got given was blanched Christmas veggies comprising of spinach, brussel sprouts and asparagus served with heat and eat naan bread from Tesco to go with it! Michelin star? really? I told them that there is no way I could eat the blanched veggies and before I could recommend on how they could fix it (I know a thing or two about a decent Indian curry), the waiter hurried away without letting me complete what I was saying (service was consistently below par overall). She came back with the same blanched veggies mixed with a sweetened tomato sauce - which was outright terrible. Never going back again.
