Caxton Grill - Westminster

Rating: 4.4 /5
Jonathan Johnson I don’t normally want to dine at a hotel bar especially in a food forward city like London. But I was staying here and had a couple of very busy days and so ended up at the Caxton Bar for dinner two nights. First of all the staff in the bar are all friendly, accommodating and professional. And the food is excellent! Had the fish and chips one night and it was top notch. The salmon Caesar salad the next night. Both with martinis. Really enjoyed the experiences.
kashmiri karahi

Kashmiri Karahi - Berkshire

Rating: 4 /5
Huss Ali A Flavorful Experience at Kashmiri Karahi I recently dined at Kashmiri Karahi, located in the vibrant setting of Salt Hill Park on Bath Road in Slough. As a fan of authentic Pakistani cuisine, I was eager to explore their menu, which features a delightful array of traditional dishes alongside some fusion elements. The decor has undergone a noticeable update, creating a modern yet welcoming ambiance that blends contemporary design with subtle nods to South Asian heritage. The space feels refreshed and inviting, making it a pleasant spot for both casual meals and family gatherings. On the food front, every dish we sampled was bursting with flavor. We started with the Mixed Grill, a generous platter of succulent lamb chops, chicken tikka, and sheesh kebabs, each marinated to perfection and grilled with just the right amount of spice. The Karahi Chicken, a house specialty, was tender and aromatic, simmered in a rich tomato-based sauce with fresh ginger and coriander that truly captured the essence of Pakistani home cooking. We also enjoyed the Butter Chicken, creamy and mildly spiced, which paired beautifully with fluffy naan bread. Overall, the flavors were authentic, bold, and well-balanced— a testament to the kitchen’s skill in using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. Service was generally good, with staff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. However, no effort was made to smile or converse with us, the interactions were purely transactional. The customer service should match the quality of the food. I have not however let this affect the 5 star rating. In summary, Kashmiri Karahi offers a satisfying dining option for those craving genuine Pakistani flavors in an updated setting. With some minor tweaks to service, it could easily become a go-to favorite. I’d recommend it for anyone in the Slough area looking for a hearty, memorable meal.

Kusina RestoBar -

Rating: 4.8 /5
Alice Chai I’ve been going to Kusina in Newport religiously, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a single bad dish. Everything I’ve tried has been so good that I’m literally working my way through the whole menu. The flavours, the freshness, the portions — everything is spot on every single visit! But what truly makes this place special is the owner. She is the warmest, kindest lady, and you can genuinely feel how much love she pours into every dish. She always takes the time to chat, recommend things based on what you like, and everyone who works there will make you feel welcome the second you walk in. It’s the kind of hospitality you just can’t fake. And the value for money? Unreal. With the quality, freshness, and generous portions you get, it’s honestly such a rare find. You can taste the passion behind the food. I was actually there when the lady left that one-star review on Google Maps, and it felt completely unfair. The owner handled the whole situation with so much patience and kindness. Anyone who’s ever been here knows how much heart she puts into this place and how warm the atmosphere always is. Kusina has become one of my favourite restaurants in the UK, and I feel so lucky to have found this little spot while working away from home. It’s genuinely become my second home. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone — whether you’re Filipino and craving something familiar or trying Filipino food for the first time. If you want great food made with love, this is the place. ❤️
