3 /5 Pranav: I recently swung by the Chopstix Noodle Bar at Welcome Break Oxford Services on the M40 only to find it closed during my visit. From the outside, it looked clean, modern, and well-presented—complete with a vibrant green-and-red sign and a spacious ordering counter typical of its sister sites . Even without stepping inside, you can tell it was designed as a bright, informal spot aimed at “flavour cravers,” with seating and décor that feels fresh and casual. Although I couldn’t sample the food firsthand, I checked the menu online: bases include vegetable chow mein, egg fried rice, and cauliflower rice, with toppings like firecracker chicken, K-Pop BBQ chicken, and vegan-friendly no-beef teriyaki. Sides range from veggie gyozas and spring rolls to sticky chilli wings and apple-pie rolls. They also offer meal deals—value, extra value, and super value—as well as sharer and family boxes, designed to suit both solo travellers and groups . From what I could see, the vibe is upbeat and geared toward quick, flavourful Asian-style food in a relaxed motorway setting. I’ll definitely return next time to try one of those flavour-packed boxes firsthand—especially the sticky chilli wings or a Katsu curry box—and to see if the bright, fresh-paced atmosphere lives up to the promise.

1 /5 Imino1Donmega: Unfortunatley a Terrible experience.Hopefully I will have a better experience with one of your branches, and I promise to upload that when it happens. I came of the motorway especially to eat your food. I went up to the counter and found three staff members talking right at the front amongst themselves. I was waiting for about 2 minutes for an acknowledgement but got nothing. I walked away in frustration. Because I wanted Chinese so badly, I walked up again, hoping for some kind of acknowledgement, and then 2 of the staff walked away. I wanted to check and ask if anything else was being prepared as there was no food available apart from 1 dish that looks like it had been sat there for a day and some dried rice. After asking, it was established that they were closing. I think there was a good 35 mins before close time. It made sense. No food and staff were getting excited about finishing for the day. I just think that there should be better communication from staff or a sign that says no food being prepared and last order in whats left. There were a few other people who came after and during my visit, and they were also wondering whats going on. Personally, I thought the staff not being attentive to the public was a bit rude in the lack of any acknowledgement. Service should stop at 9, not 8.30 or even 8.55. Afterwards,reluctantly, I went to subway next door, literally 3 or 4 mins before close, and I was served food and spoken to how I would expect without any problems. Not sure if this is standard practice? If it is, then please make it clear of your operations so that customers dont waste their time and watch in bewilderment expecting food and service that was never going to happen due to closing time. If it wasnt standard practice, then its a chance to improve and grow your business.

1 /5 Adam Richardson: I usually love chopstix. But this one lets an otherwise great fast food joint down massively. The rice was inedible, the salt and pepper chicked had been overcooked. They dont let you use the app to collect or spend points. Will definitely avoid this one in future.

1 /5 Wilf Bond: Very poor restaurant. Employee barely interacted with me and didn’t even let me choose the toppings, just gave me the dregs they had left. Regretted getting it at all and felt bloated after. £10 for a small box. Noodles were slimy and old and the chicken was all very soggy and been left out for a few hours at least. Avoid this place
