5 /5 David Oliphant: Hard to explain how fantastic this restaurant is. It has a welcoming and cosy dining room. The food is amazing, I had halibut with North African vegetables preceded by Ceviche of razor clams. The waiter was tremendous (aside from the funny fact that I never got to see the ‘actual’ wine list). He pointed us to his favourite food and wine and all his recommendations were quite beyond outstanding. One of the best meals I have ever had…. Thank you team Cloth.

5 /5 Lulu Fontaine: Cloth – A London Gem of Intimate Magic From the moment I stepped into Cloth, I was completely enamored. Intimate, romantic, magical were the first words that came to mind. Dining solo that evening, I immediately missed my boyfriend — this was a space made for lingering glances and whispered conversations. White tablecloths, real candles, and soft, flattering light (the kind that sets the mood but still lets you read the menu) gave the room a quietly seductive energy. I was seated at a cozy two-top with a perfect view of the restaurant — the kind of vantage point that lets you take it all in while still feeling tucked away. My server greeted me with genuine warmth — the sort you notice him extending to every guest. As the night grew busier, the staff remained attentive without hovering, striking that rare balance of presence and space. I began with the beef tartare with bone marrow butter — a dish that will truly haunt me in the best way. Silky, decadent, paired with buttery toasted bread — absolutely mind-blowing. I sipped a glass of Pinot Noir and let the whole scene unfold around me. Next came the smoky pork chop with lentils and lardons, accompanied by a salad of bitter greens, shaved apple, and candied walnuts — a perfect interplay of richness and brightness. The pork had a beautiful crust and deep, smoky flavor. I usually prefer mine with just a blush of pink, but the hearty lentils and lardons added so much richness and juiciness, it felt just right. I finished with the cheese plate and another glass of wine, slowing down to savor every last bite and every flicker of candlelight. I’ll definitely be back — next time, with my Love. Between the professional, knowledgeable staff, the enchanting atmosphere, and an inventive yet cohesive menu, Cloth is truly another London gem. ✨

4 /5 Sani Ario: The bread was sheer brilliance. So was the ceviche, lamb and decadent chocolate cake. But i cant forget whatever that crab bisque pasta was. I was being polite in getting through half. The texture was wrong, there was no semblance of bite and the circle lasagne sauce just didnt work. The ambiance was cosy and the service was prompt. But the 13.5% service charge with seemingly no opt out was gratuitous. This is still a smart bistro. Would still come back in the Spring to check out the menu again - hopefully it wont be have a hit and miss and just have bangers.

5 /5 Adrian Moore: Superb little cozy bistro with well sourced seasonal produce, knowledgeable staff and a charming candlelit dining room. Great for a date night splurge or for lunch (one of Londons best deals at 24£ for two or 29£ for three courses. The building in ancient and oozes pedigree.

2 /5 Jun Xing: We came to Cloth excited for a great meal, but instead we were served what can only be described as a salt tasting menu. We ordered all the mains and, impressively, they managed to make every single one of them far too salty. It wasn’t just over-seasoned, it was palate-destroying. The staff did offer to remake the dishes, but by then we were already full (and honestly, once your tongue has been brined, it’s hard to come back from that). The damage was done. What should’ve been a special dinner turned into a marathon of saltiness that left us more thirsty than satisfied. We ended the night chugging water like we’d just crossed a desert. If you search the reviews online, you’ll see that this was not a single incident, but across quite a few occasions. The restaurant should really be paying attention to this kind of feedback. It ruined our evening. It’s a shame, because the atmosphere is nice and the service is friendly - but at these prices, you expect balance, finesse, and actual flavor. Instead, Cloth delivered an expensive lesson in sodium tolerance. London is full of great restaurants. Go literally anywhere else if you’d like to taste your food rather than your salt shaker.
