Eat Rite Caribbean Cuisine - (Near Merton, South East)

1 /5 Eugenia Pirlea: Awful experience ordering a takeaway from this place on Wednesday. The person serving was incredibly rude , let us wait for 5-7 minutes for no reason. He was preparing a online order when we got there so we waited patiently and when he finished just left from the counter without saying a word or even looking at us.Was in the back for a few good minutes and only returned when my partner called him. Only gave monosyllabic answers and did not look at us the entire time. I wonder if this is how he treats all his customers or we got a special treatment because were an interracial couple. The food was ok .Not good,ok. We ordered curry goat with rice and peas and whilst the curry was ok, the rice was from 2-3 days prior. And the saltfish patty was dry and not salty. The result? We took the bus to Mitcham and got another takeaway order from Livis Cuisine for which we paid the same 20£ and got double the food (two portions of curry goat with jollof rice).

1 /5 D P: Ordered jerk chicken but it definitely wasn’t jerk chicken. The seasoning and flavour were completely off, and parts of the chicken were still pink/undercooked. I had to stop eating it. For the price, it was really disappointing. I’ve attached a photo so people can see what was served.

5 /5 Val R: Ive been eating here for years, the food has always been flavourful, and generously portioned . I remember when the owner had a tent on the corner and would be cooking jerk on the drum, as soon as I got out the train station, jerk would be wafting from around the corner. The service has always been good and the staff too. There is a lot of variety on the menu, and anytime I drop in I always have to make sure I pick up food for mum. I usually go for the jerk chicken but the escovitch fish is also good. Glad I dont have to go to far. Bless..

5 /5 Damian Lubanski: Been eating from those guys for at least 11 years. Had massive break for few years but I remember when they started with tent and became their best customer. Would visit every Wednesday and Friday and sometimes Saturday to get my fix sorted. Would take me half of my lunch time but was worth it. Recently have changed jobs - and just changed again so Im not there anymore - and decided to see how are they doing since I was in the area. Turns out theyve taken over of local cafe. Food was still good but smaller portions and more expensive -what isnt those days? Chicken is always good, with pork you might get some fat pieces, has happened to me, but thats pork for you. Overall excellent simple tasty food, great service, support them if you can.
