Glyndebourne Mildmay - (Near East Sussex, South East)

2 /5 Jacqueline Durrans: We’ve eaten at Mildmay annually and this was the first time we were disappointed. The food was missing the delicacy of previous years. Between 4 of us we had the fish, chicken and beef mains. We all agreed it reminded us of eating a pub Sunday lunch. Quantity has replaced quality. Please bring back the 3 course delicately cooked food!

5 /5 StephenMB: We had dinner during the long interval. Wed ordered a bottle of wine beforehand which was waiting for us along with a jug of iced water. Although the menu was two course (mains & dessert), there were nibbles also on the table and bread. Quantities of both courses excellent as well as quality. We had beautiful roast beef, perfectly cooked with huge Yorkshire pudding, jus and a gratin on the side. Not cheap, but what is, thoroughly enjoyed

3 /5 Rosemary Ashford: Sorry to say we were disappointed on this occasion having usually enjoyed eating at Mildmay. We had to find a server to come over to our table after waiting about 15 minutes, leaving us rushing to finish the meal before the first bell. Plus the food did not reach the expected standard for Glyndebourne. Hopefully this is all just a blip.

2 /5 A Nonnamouse: Afternoon tea: Delish sandwiches and scones, cakes looked nice but were a bit sickly and soggy. Stingy amount of cream and jam for 2. Tea was also stingy, small pot, no hot water as standard. Some of the servers were also quite rude. For the price it was disappointing
