Donna M Popped in on a quiet Monday afternoon and loved it! I had the scallops, rosemary focaccia bread, and the burrata salad – all absolutely delicious. Washed it down with a cheeky spicy margarita cocktail which was spot on. The team were brilliant too – they gave me a phone charger to use and even remade my cocktail when I realised I couldn’t have one ingredient. Even though I was full, I managed to squeeze in dessert-the bee sweet which, was as the name, says mad sweet but delish, and served in a bee dish which Ive never seen before. Great food, great vibe, and really thoughtful service; I’ll definitely be back.

Girija Rajendran Ottolenghi is an excellent place to enjoy delicious food .They have healthy options with moderate sweetness and a nice nutty flavor. We bought a salad, cheesecake, and chocolate cake— all were really good and worth the money. The salads are a bit pricey, but the taste still lingers in our minds. Presentation is beautiful, and simple meals cost around £30 per person. They also sell their Ottolenghi recipe books, which is a nice touch for food lovers. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Marek Leszczynski Our local go to Italian. It is one of our favourite restaurants, we have been coming here for a few years. The owners and staff truly make an effort, super friendly and accommodating. The food is outstanding, since we have been coming here we have eaten most of the items on the menu, we cannot fault any, the presentation is perfect and the taste is delicate and delightful on the taste buds. Visiting the restaurant feels like eating truly excellent, Italian homemade food. We recommend this restaurant to our all friends, a true gem!

Alec Wright Honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while. Everything was perfect from starters, mains to dessert. You can tell the ingredients were fresh, and everything was really well balanced, not greasy or overloaded. Our waiter Luis was friendly and carted to our every need. Even making our pizza’s heart shaped as I was attending with my partner. The atmosphere was great and it was great pizza done right. (Their house larger is great as well - I’d recommend) Will 100% be coming back

Ray on the Go Lovely Local Spot with Great Food and Coffee. La Mela Mediterranean Cuisine is a fantastic local cafe and restaurant in Hackney. The team is always welcoming and friendly, and the service is consistently excellent. Their coffee is always on point — smooth, fresh, and the perfect start to the day. I’ve had breakfast here a few times and it’s always been top quality. The menu is quite broad too, offering a variety of options for lunch and more, so there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee, a relaxed breakfast, or a sit-down meal, La Mela delivers every time. Highly recommend if youre in the area!

Sophie de Groot We enjoyed a leisurely brunch here. The omelet was fluffy, the bacon crispy, and the fresh-squeezed orange juice was refreshing. The service was friendly and fast, even though the restaurant was busy.
