3 /5 SPARKELS7797: Isle of Wight Pearl is interesting to visit, especially to see the history and learn more about how pearls are cultivated – that part is really nice and worth a look. The displays are well presented and it’s a unique experience. However, the atmosphere did feel a bit cold when we visited. Some of the staff came across as abrupt and a little stuck up, and it took quite a while to get help or be served, which did let the experience down. Overall, it’s worth a visit if you’re interested in pearls and their history, but the customer service could definitely be warmer and more welcoming.

3 /5 James Robinson: My review focuses on the cafe, however its worth stating that the pearl shop is lovely, and it offers some beautiful jewellery from a reasonable price point upwards. The cafe is in a lovely spot with great views. Weve been here several times in the past and the food is usually good. Value is average, with prices at the upper end of acceptable. Cakes and most food was good, but the breakfast muffin was disappointing. At £12 the price is steep, but ours arrived with no avocado and hard-poached eggs. After enquiring, I was advised that theyd run out of avocado - which was the main draw. The lady at the till, who was very polite and working hard for the duration of our visit, advised that she was only told about this after wed ordered, which is regrettable but understandable. If this were the case, this should have been stated when the food arrived if it was a recent exhaustion of supply. There is, however, no excuse for massively overcooked poached eggs. Disappointing - hoping for better next time.

1 /5 Val Sutton: Not the best experience...had a scone jam and cream in the cafe and was charged £56 , after numerous checking ive got to wait 3 to 5 Woking days for the refund. Certainly wont be going again, not a hint of any sort of compensation for the inconvenience of waiting for money i need. Pearls are lovely but cafe needs to have people who know what they are doing on the till, not kids. Check your balance before payment people.
