Kokkiri Ricedog - (Near Brent, South East)

3 /5 Patrick N.: I opted for the cornflake batter, as the ramen was not available. The cornflake batter was crunchy and unexpectedly sweet, with a bit of a chew. The hot dog inside was nothing fancy and tasted like your cheap carnival hot dog. I got the one with a cheddar cheese filling, which resembled nacho cheese sauce. It was yellow and tasted like nothing, so that felt like a waste. While this Korean take on a corn dog isn’t bad, I think the cheap hot dog inside deters me from getting it again anytime soon. It feels too unhealthy and there are so many other better options at Bang Bang.

1 /5 Giselle Lai: Very poor efficiency and disappointing service. The waiting time was extremely long, and this was not mentioned at all when I placed my order. After waiting around 20 minutes, I still did not receive my food. I understand delays when a restaurant is busy, and I do not mind waiting if this is communicated clearly. However, the main issue was the lack of honesty and service. The staff member, Gabriela Preda, had a very poor attitude, gave excuses instead of proper explanations, and showed no willingness to understand or address customers’ questions or needs. Overall, this was a frustrating experience due to poor communication, lack of professionalism, and unacceptable customer service.

2 /5 Abdul Muzammil: It is worth mentioning that this food review is from August 2023 but I doubt anything has changed from when we ate the food to me writing this review. Kokkiri Ricedog is very well known in the influencer food space for having very eye watering foods and to that extent it does not disappoint! The food does look very visually pleasing but the taste does leave a lot to be desired. We’ll start off by mentioning the staff were very friendly and nice. So straight of the bat, some points there. We’ll get into some of the items now. The two drinks purchases were Yuzu Lemonade and Pink Grapefruit Yuzu. In all honestly the Pink Grapefruit Yuzu was very pleasant. Seems a little on the expensive side in my opinion. The normal Yuzu Lemonade had a hint of Yuzu and a lot of sugar/sweetener. I cannot really recommend the drinks at that price. When ordering the corn dogs I was asked if I wanted to add extra toppings so I asked for Potato (as you can see in the receipt) but unfortunately there was no extra topping on the corn dog (pictured). Now I know I could have gone back to the people at the booth and rectified this issue but in all honesty this is my first time at this establishment and if this is the level of attentiveness they give to their orders then I wanted to accept this and incorporate this into the rating. BUT I did also want to try a good selection of their menu for reviewing and as such we did two separate orders (also pictured). Onto the food: At all costs avoid the chicken nuggets. They taste horrendous. I am 100% sure these are the kind of small nuggets you forget about in the freezer for years. Absolute joke. I would recommend actually removing these from the menu as they are not worth anyone’s time or money. The waffle fries were okay at best. The dips were nice. The corn dogs… as mentioned previously very visually appealing but damn… the taste… what taste? Very disappointed in the taste and flavor. There was almost a lack of anything of substance. And I can confirm they use the same cheap nuggets on the corndogs as they do when ordering them on their own. If you want to throw something nice looking on social media then you got it right here but if you want something tasty then this, unfortunately is not it. I did however very much love the cheese balls. They were very nice. Despite having very nice customer service and visually appealing food it is hard for me to give this place anything but a 2/5. When you’re a food establishment you have to make good quality and tasting food.. Otherwise… My eyes can only eat so much…

4 /5 Dates and Tastes: When we heard the new of a new Korean Ricedog spot opening at BANG BANG Oriental Food Hall, we absolutely had to go and check it out. Weve had Ricedogs before, but this was definitely a tier above what weve previously had. We ordered 3 dogs, and we made sure to have different flavours and toppings. The first one was half mozzarella and beef sausage, with the ramen coating, teriyaki sauce, and cheddar power on top. The second one was half mozzarella and beef, with fries in the batter, a sauce that tasted like chipotle and sugar. The third was another half-and-half mozzarella and beef dog with garlic and BBQ sauce and sweet potato chunks in the batter. Everything was absolutely amazing, crazy long cheese pulls, and great flavours. We wanted to try the poutine, but unfortunately, they were all out, so well try it next time. Overall the food was great, the staff were excellent and well be coming back.
