3 /5 Zi Siddique: I thought this restaurant would be a find and end up loving it, wanted to try it for ages. Finally got a chance to go on a cold wet Saturday evening. We went for around 6pm there was a table of 6, a couple and us, a table of three. walking into the restaurant it felt very sticky underfoot, my trainers were making a noise walking towards our table. The interior was extremely dated, quite shabby and cold. The table was also sticky which never bodes well. We were given menus straight away and the server was polite and amicable. The menu was extensive and we did see some staples from Vietnamese cuisine. We ordered the summer rolls with prawns , and the crispy pancake with king prawns to start. These were actually surprisingly good, although they could have had a few more prawns and the dipping sauce was excellent. We really enjoyed these. My daughter ordered the Beef pho rare, I ordered the prawns with lemongrass and chilli, and my partner the crispy prawn noodles. The Pho was fine not too much to complain about there, however the noodles and the lemon grass chilli prawns were such a disappointment. They had the same sauce and they were supposed to be two different dishes??? They both lacked the flavour they were supposed to represent considering the ingredients and flavourings? It was bizarre. The sauce on the lemongrass prawns was so gloopy and thick a weird consistency. No lemongrass present in the dish. Similarly with the noodle dish crispy noodles but the whole dish lacked flavour and depth! It really wasn’t good value for money. We won’t be visiting again.
