5 /5 Nicola Cunningham: Really nice little cafe. Bright and colourful and the girl serving from South Africa was really friendly! We only ordered drinks and some chips to eat outside (17.08.24 about 15:25) and we were served quickly. Chips were brought out to the table for us outside so we didn’t need to wait for them. Will definitely go back - the burgers that the chef was cooking looked DELICIOUS and so did the chicken wings that we saw them taking out!

From the moment you step inside, you’re met with a gentle, positive vibe that settles into you like warmth after a long walk on the Downs. There’s something homely here, something quietly healing. It’s the kind of place where people come not only to eat, but to breathe, to recharge, to feel looked after. The food is consistently incredible—fresh, thoughtful, and clearly made with care. But what truly makes this place special are the people. Marilyn and Leonardo don’t just cook; they create experiences. They’ve served me some of the best food I’ve ever had, but more than that, they’ve lifted my spirits on days when I needed it most. Their presence, their kindness, and the love they put into their work have genuinely charged me. They make the café feel alive. East Brighton Café is comfort, peace, and nourishment all in one. It’s become a little sanctuary for me, and I’m grateful it exists. This place healed me :)

5 /5 Jonathan Foster: Staying at the campsite down the road and liked the look of this place. The couple running it are absolutely lovely. Very welcoming and friendly. The food though was incredible. My wife had the sausage and egg roll with chilli jam, and said it was fabulous. I had the dirty chicken garlic naan and it was out of this world. We’ll be going here again for sure.

5 /5 Samantha Whiting: An amazing cafe located in East Brighton Park. The South African, Indian food menu showcases the chefs talents for flavour combinations. We had the dirty chicken garlic nann and masala chips! The food was well cooked and full of flavour. The turmeric latte and mocha were well made and tasty. We will definitely be back!

3 /5 Ken Duerden: Ok maybe they were having an off day. I said a warm hello to the lady at the counter on her phone and got completely blanked. We then stood there waiting for her to finish. Had pea and potato, and mackerel samosas served with tomato ketchup. Mango chutney would be better. Food was nothing special but to be fair my wife enjoyed the mackerel ones. The place didn’t have a happy vibe at all today. The music was loud and there was a lot of noise from a fridge or something in the kitchen.
