5 /5 Ashleigh: This place was absolutely lovely. We were visiting family and this place was close enough to visit as I wanted some authentic food from a tagine. It was about two minute walk from the bus station. Upon arrival we noticed how bright and lively the decor was. We walked in and had the option to sit where we wanted, so we took a seat in the back to avoid feeling any cold air from outside as customers left. We ended up sitting next to the restrooms, luckily they were fairly clean although there was no napkins in the women’s room. The waiter gave us time and asked us what we’d like to drink, we decided on tea, I asked for unsweetened and regretted it, but it was still nice, we added sugar and fixed it right up. After a while he came back and asked what we would like to order. We started with an appetizer, the Marrakech traditional mezzo. It was beautiful! Olives, hummus, yogurt mint dip, a fajita tasting veggie dip, another one I don’t remember but it was fantastic, sausages(veggie, and a lamb), falafel, and loads of warm pita. We dug in and probably could have had that for a meal alone. But we decided to pig out and enjoyed ourselves. After a while the waiter came back and asked what we wanted to order. I ordered the chicken and olive tagine with bread and my other half ordered a fish tagine with couscous. They arrive quickly and pipping hot! It was beautiful, I’d never had a tagine before and the presentation was cool. He only lifted the lids for us but it was fun!
I don’t know what sauce was on that chicken but it was fantastic! I could eat a bowl of the sauce and olives with the bread anytime. The chicken was great also, very tender, fell right off the bone! The fish fish was very pretty but it wasn’t as good as the chicken, well to me at least. Needless to say I finished it with a smile. We were probably at the restaurant for a hour and a half. They stayed busy but not overly busy, some people ordered take away.
They offered dessert too but we were stuffed so we got the check and went onto our next adventure. The price was fair also. Pretty much what we’d pay at home for a meal like that. We’ll be back on our next trip to the UK. It’s locked into my google maps!
