ColinsKid I’ve visited this place a handful of times and each time I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the food. Each visit I aim to try a different dish, to get a real insight into what Filipino cuisine is like having not come across it before I moved into the borough. Today was no exception, I opted to try one of the daily specials: Pork Humba. It was a delicious dish of fatty pork belly, with black beans, banana blossom in a sweet and savoury soy sauce, served with steamed rice. Delicious. My previous visits have seen my try the Chicken adobo, Kare Kare and up until today my favourite the Caldereta. The condiment table is always worth a visit with pots of homemade chilli oil and a vinegary onion sauce that helps to cut through the rich dishes. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is an unassuming cafe usually frequented by a mix of locals as well as international visitors looking for a tasty affordable lunch with decent sized portions. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Romford and looking for something tasty, comforting and different to the usual fry up cafes and fast food restaurants scattered around the Romford Market area.

Nick Holt Proper greasy spoon style. Tasty bacon, nice sausage, crispy Hash Brown. Big tasty fried egg. Proper quality food and lots of it. Huge toast (that came pre buttered, which I like for so many reasons) Passed the dry hash brown test (they dont bury it under the beans or tomato making it soggy, excellent, tick) Got my order right by excluding mushroom, happy days. Not the poshest of places but its not intending to be, which is great because they focus on the food quality and cost to the punter. The only thing I forgot was to leave them a tip, regrettably.

J Li Love this place soooo much! I’m a very big fan of Nigerian food, and tried so many Nigerian restaurants in the UK from takeaway shops and fancy ones in central London over these years. I would say Lagos LDN tastes exceptionally delicious. I love the jollof rice, ayamase and came back several times. This is a lovely restaurant owned by a lovely lady who makes her food with great passion and attention to details. Honestly, although being a big fan of Nigerian food, I was not a big fan of jollof rice until I tried it here! The rich and complex layers of flavour is just soooooo good! Additionally, I usually have a sensitive stomach and skin can be easily triggered by some seasoning and poor quality oil, I don’t really experience it after eating food from here. Could not recommend enough!
