Sakonis - (Near Harrow, South East)

5 /5 Namishka Doshi: This branch is now back under the original Sakonis management, who have done an excellent job in Hatch End and Wembley. As the previous restaurant, it had been under different franchise management for some time and had unfortunately gone downhill. It’s great to see it back with the original owners and restored to high standards. We had a fantastic experience with a varied, high-quality buffet. All the classics were there chilli paneer, puri, bhajia, dosa, and potato curry along with some newer and interesting options such as a Thai tofu salad. Everything was freshly cooked, with a huge variety on offer, and the value for money is unmatched. The décor has been improved with the main seating area to match the brand aesthetic and looks so great. Lovely, cozy and chic like their other branches.

2 /5 Dimps: Seems like its under new management. Previously I never had to pay over the phone, the order I placed wasnt actually big! Asked for mild - nothing was mild I said I need the order ready for collection time, I was made to wait - sure they threw in extra chilli paneer but that was not mild and I preferred to have my order on time! One dhosa contained potato mix, the other didnt (but the out the mix in a separate container - not sure why?!) Food otherwise was nice for those that could handle non mild. I dont think Ill be returning now though.

1 /5 Sabira Bhimji: I ordered take away dahi wada and dhokla. Very poor service. Both items not cooked properly. Wada had awful smell. I threw it in the bin. I returned after so many years. Service and food was brilliant and I thought it would be the same.

1 /5 Kharisma Patel: Online it says it closes at 9:30pm however when I got there they said we close at 9, so we were rushed. We asked to remove the service charge but they said it is compulsory, since when is service charge compulsory especially for a buffet, what service am I getting. They have the service charged renamed as ‘eating in charge’ , how else am I supposed to eat a buffet, at home? They are liars. They have underlying charges that aren’t mentioned. Bhajya was very undercook, the pizza was paper thin, the spring rolls were hard enough to break my teeth, we have chole batura, more like chole oil. Had 30 minutes to eat but drinks comes 15 minutes after. Everything was cold. I’m done and dusted would not be coming back.
