4 /5 G*R*L: Very pleasant and technically skilled cooking overall, with a few stand‑out moments. A couple of the tasting menu dishes were genuinely excellent, and the bread and butter in particular was outstanding. However, not everything lived up to the standard you’d expect. The duck was very ordinary and lacked the depth or precision you’d anticipate at this level, and one of the desserts also fell short. At just over £200 per head (included drinks), the experience should feel consistently memorable, and a few elements didn’t quite reach that mark. I also felt the drink recommendations were a little pushy, which took away from what should have been a more relaxed service. On top of that, there were too many interruptions from the staff, even though they were all genuinely lovely and well‑intentioned. And please; skip the gold on the food. It doesn’t elevate the dish and ends up looking more tacky than luxurious. Overall, it’s worth visiting to experience a menu like this.

Most courses were nice but not particularly memorable. Would expect a bit more for these prices. Wont rush back, but its worth coming to experience menus like this every now and again.

The wine pairings were beautiful, the courses fascinating, and the team really went above and beyond to ensure an excellent experience for us. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us and show us the kitchen too, this experience made our evening so memorable. I came here with my Mother as a joint birthday celebration and it was truly one to remember. We look forward to returning again soon. Thanks again team!

5 /5 Shelley Steijger: We expected a lot from a 1 star Michelin restaurant and were not disappointed. In fact it exceeded our expectations. The food, service and atmosphere were perfect. Both friendly and refined and wonderful to see that the passing of the baton from Chef Steve Drake to Alex Payne continues the tradition of superb food. Thank you for making my dad’s 90th as special as it should be.

5 /5 G M: Our experience for lunch was very good. The service is impeccable by the Italian waiter. Many of the courses were standouts, such as the tartare and other appetisers, the cod, the stone bass, and the chocolate mousse (best mousse I’ve ever had). The very last surprise course at the end is a touch of genius - I won’t spoil it because I really appreciated the surprise factor. The duck was slightly underwhelming - I think it would benefit from the skin being crunchy. Food quantity was good. The lunch lasted probably 2h which is my personal max but that’s subjective, some people like it longer/shorter. The food kept coming throughout the 2h which is key - we were not left waiting for courses. The choice of wine by the glass is limited but we found a good 1er cru Chablis, which though was very overpriced. The venue is cozy, but not a highlight. The tables are large and sofa seating is comfortable. The kitchen looks very nice with big windows and light coming in, which I’m sure helps the chef and cooks there do a good job. The bill came at 380gbp for 2 tasting menus and 3 glasses of wine.
