The Bell - (Near Oxfordshire, South East)

4 /5 Alex Markwell: We visited The Bell for Valentine’s and had a generally enjoyable evening. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the two servers looking after us were genuinely lovely, friendly, attentive, and a real credit to the team. Their service was one of the highlights of the night. I ordered the fish & chips, which was very good and well cooked, and the setting itself made the evening feel special. There were, however, a few elements that didn’t quite meet the standard we expected. My partner’s steak was on the fatty side with less actual meat than anticipated, and the chunky chips, which we’d asked to be served crispy, arrived soft. Small details, but noticeable. Overall, we still enjoyed our time at The Bell, and there were some genuinely lovely parts to the evening. I’d be open to returning in the future, as there’s clearly a lot the team does well.

5 /5 Ellen Hedge: A really really lovely meal at The Bell! We stayed in Charlbury for 5 days and visited The Bell for a drink on our first evening. It was lovely sitting by the fire, in the bar area, having a drink and playing cards. On our second evening, we went to The Bell for dinner which was delicious! For starter, we had duck liver parfait and cheese soufflé, followed by salmon and sausage and mash for main. For dessert, we had chocolate moose and goats curd with rhubarb. We also had some delicious drinks - I would recommend the Elderflower presse and No-jito! We had a lovely waitress (I can’t remember her name but she had only started on Monday and was very helpful) and all in all, had a lovely visit!A really really lovely meal at The Bell! 5 /5 Vee De Bee: Met with friends for a relaxed lunch, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented (the rice pudding was outstanding) Lovely atmosphere and charming staff who couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. Every area was spotlessly clean, buzzy atmosphere without being overly noisy or overwhelming and lovely to see dogs and children welcomed

5 /5 Shiv Kalia: We came here last Friday, for our anniversary meal (not that the service team knew this when we booked) and the whole experience was perfect. Fantastic food, wonderful surroundings and brilliant service. Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and super attentive - even little things like getting me some more bread to finish off the pate. The setting was cosy and welcoming. You get a sense of community here, with people coming in and out, eating and drinks as the towns fate takes place outside. I cant wait to go back one day.

5 /5 victoria winklhofer: We had the pleasure of having lunch at the bell yesterday and it was just lovely! The food, the setting was just breathtaking! Daylesford did amazing! However the most outstanding part was our waitress Leny- she was beyond sweet, informative and had great attention to detail. I would go as far as to say she was the best waitress I ever had the pleasure meeting. Big shoutout to her- she made our day!
