The Black Horse, A Heartwood Inn - (Near Surrey, South East)

5 /5 Graham Hilldrup: I visited The Black Horse for the first time today on the recommendation of some neighbours. The food was very good and much better than other pub food that I have eaten recently. The service from Magdalena was excellent. Both of us have allergies and she very attentively checked the menu and informed us what we could eat. My friend is normally quite critical of some of the places I have taken him but on this occasion he walked away very happy. I will definitely be taking other friends there.

5 /5 Rob Francis: Absolutely superb meal here yesterday. Cheese Soufflé, followed by Pheasant Supreme with dauphinoise potatoes, roast Muscat pumpkin, pickled girolles, pheasant jus and a side order of tender stem broccoli, with sticky toffee pudding to finish. All washed down with pints of Timothy Tailor and coffees. 10/10. Cant remember the last time I had such a good lunch. Amber, our waitress, was amazing. Please thank her again and make sure you hold onto her. Shes really good!

5 /5 Michael Holdeman: We met up with friends on Thursday 22nd Jan. Staff are always welcoming, with a special mention for Dan. Restaurant was very busy, but we had excellent service, and at no point did we feel rushed to leave our table. Love the cat! Food was excellent and enjoyed by us all. Love the Treats from Heartwood. Would recommend.

4 /5 Amy G: Met some friends for dinner here. Food was superb and allergies well catered for. Downside was the price. Very expensive.I have eaten out at pubs for lovely meals that were far less than this with food just as nice, if not nicer. Some of the car park has loose stones so not particularly wheelchair friendly. But the venue was accessible. Would I go again? Only if someone arranged the venue. Personally prefer somewhere less expensive.

5 /5 Issy R: Wow! This place is more than 5 stars.. where to begin- The service: we arrived at 8.30 on a Friday having just landed from a flight. We hadn’t booked and they were busy! But we were immediately accommodated and then even offered to move to a cosier table. Our waitress could not have been nicer. Our order was quickly taken and we both ordered the risotto we were asked if we wanted cheese.. i definitely did, my husband so no so I said “I’ll have his” when our risotto arrived they had put the extra cheese from his in a little bowel for me! They honestly could not have done more. While we were waiting the manager came to check we’d had our order taken, we had and then as soon as he saw us with the bill came right over so we could pay which was greatly appreciated as we had a drive ahead of us. The Food: Absolutely delicious!! I was very sorry not to try the pistachio soufflé but it smelt incredible!! Would highly recommend this place could not fault it.
