The Marine Hotel - (Near Kent, South East)

3 /5 Tanya Knight: We stayed here between Christmas and new year. Busy little hotel with perfect location to the beach. Room was clean and well stocked. The noise of just general moving around upstairs was almost unbearable through the night. You can hear literally every foot step. We had a problem with the mattress that was rectified quickly. Replacement mattress was, for my liking, hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Service was good. Found the hotel got really busy so we ended up not being able to sit down there as no room. Drink to the room was not a big issue but would have been nice to have guest only section. If it is here we did not see it. Checking in was easy. The guy that checked us in couldn’t have been more friendly and really set our stay off to a great start. The next day the front desk staff were not so welcoming.

Pasty is one of a kind, she is very attentive to everyone’s needs and goes above and beyond making sure everything is right for you with your breakfast. Pasty is a true gem within your team who is down to earth, warm and friendly giving a professional service and doesn’t stop working. Many thanks Donna and Gary

5 /5 Amy McKenna: Its difficult to know where to begin, as we were truly blown away by our stay at the Marine Hotel. It was the perfect winter escape from London. From sipping drinks in the ambient bar by the fireplace, to dining in the beautiful orangery restaurant, everything exceeded our expectations. It is a short walk to the bowling alley (perfect on a rainy winter day) and high street, with other top attractions such as the castle and the Old Neptune about a 25 minute walk away. The hotel itself is directly opposite the sea and you can be strolling besides the quirky beach huts within a couple of minutes. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the service throughout was exceptional, we genuinely couldn’t fault our stay. We booked the winter stay offer, which included a contribution towards dinner, a bottle of wine, and breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised not only by the quality and variety of the food, but also by how seamlessly the offer was honoured. Nothing felt awkward or restricted, at dinner we were simply seated, asked whether we’d prefer red or white wine, and our orders were taken with such ease and professionalism. Breakfast was equally memorable, made even more special by the warm, friendly, and charming service from Patsy. We truly hope to meet her again when we return in the summer. A wonderful stay from start to finish, we can’t wait to come back.

1 /5 Ian Gowers: I found this hotel on Booking.com and decided to call to reserve, rather than use the app, due to fees hotels have to pay. Unfortunately, the reception service left a lot to be desired and I decided not to book in the end. The receptionist, Karen (not a joke) answered the phone eventually then decided to be nothing but condescending between her coughing directly in to the mouthpiece. This gave such a bad impression and I would recommend not to hire people that dont want to be doing the job theyre paid for. This was a first impression that we not good at all, and if this is how a receptionist treats you, youd only knows how bad everything else will be. I would recommend everyone to call and reserve, just to see if Karen has been sacked before deciding to stay. Good luck, I will never be staying at this hotel.

5 /5 Lynda Howarth: Beautiful clean room with a stunning sea view, friendly professional staff and a lovely easy walk into Whitstable town centre. Wonderful breakfast and great bar. Will be coming back.
