5 /5 Sam Mackay: Didnt stay here but ate at the restaurant. A Truly exceptional evening. We consider ourselves foodies and love nothing more than good food in great venues. This passes with flying colours. The service was really brilliant, attentive , friendly staff from the door to the table and beyond. Everyone was great. The food is delicious, elevated farm to table vibes, starters were decent enough, but mains and beyond were where it excelled ,.with some outstanding gnocchi and steak. The decor is beautiful, the surround area and building gorgeous. Genuine one of my favourite hotel restaurants in the country. Make sure to try the croissant fritters with the van de constance desert wine for afters if they have it. Absolute chefs kiss to end a wonderful mean. And also if you can lounge in the library /lounge area after for a little tipple to send you on your way. Wonderful place we will for sure visit again one day

5 /5 Rebecca Lee: Came here for my birthday while pregnant, and the experience was amazing. The manager explained their allergens process and the staff were incredibly diligent regarding allergens (nuts) and pregnancy-safe options, making us feel totally at ease. ​The bar vibes are exceptional with a great range of drinks—it’s the kind of place that feels just as welcoming for a romantic couple as it does for a family with children. Friendly service and cozy decor throughout. ​The Food: I love ​the 25-mile menu concept, so sustainable and thoughtful and everything tasted so fresh and seasonal. ​The bread with garden herb-infused oil was a highlight. ​Do not miss the bar snacks! ​These were quite possibly the best chips of my life—perfectly fluffy inside and crispy outside. ​They really delivered on every front. Highly recommend!

1 /5 Denise Davies: Really disappointing experience, except for the location and company ! Totally overpriced, unimpressive menu. £7 for a side of greens consisting of about 4 leaves was galling. And it would have been nice if the waitress had pointed out that my dish came with greens anyway so that I could order something else to complement my meal. I had the pollock which is essentially a cheap fish and doesnt warrant the price tag even at this venue. It came with crosnes, which may well be fancy and taste ok, but unfortunately look like maggots on the plate! My husbands Medium steak was rare on one half, and well done on the other. Extremely slow and indifferent service, particularly from the Sommelier. And as others have said, the tables are really crammed in to a conservatory/greenhouse area which made for a very hot, hectic and noisy atmosphere. We thought it would be a nice treat on a Spring Saturday afternoon and visited with a couple of friends. I wasnt honestly expecting value for money, but I wasnt expecting to feel invisible and robbed either. There are much nicer places to go in the New Forest and I wouldnt recommend The Pig to anyone whatever the occasion.

4 /5 Gro Salter: We were a small group who had lunch on Sunday Feb 22nd. The place is wonderful, the service great, but the food is a little disappointing. The porchetta was far too fatty, the gnocchi were not great, and were served with bread (!), thats just too much carbs, some greens or a little side salad would have been better, in my opinion. However, the bread was lovely, also the blood orange and almond milk pudding. Nice, friendly service and a great atmosphere.

3 /5 Kaviani: We’re glad we didn’t pay peak-season prices for our stay at The Pig, Brockenhurst. The room itself was cosy, with a huge, comfortable bed and a great shower. That said, for the price per night, the overall experience fell short. On our first evening, we ordered room service. Getting through to the front desk was surprisingly difficult. It took four attempts over a couple of hours before anyone answered, which isn’t what you expect at this level. The second night, we ate in the restaurant. We had a few drinks at the bar beforehand, but getting served was painfully slow. Staff clearly saw we were trying to order yet repeatedly looked away or distracted themselves elsewhere. On both occasions, it took around 15 minutes to get served. The service felt borderline rude, and this wasn’t due to understaffing. A special mention, however, goes to Harvey, who served us our final round. He was switched on, professional, and knew exactly how to engage with guests. Everyone else could learn a lot from him. Once seated in the restaurant, things improved significantly. The food was impeccable, genuinely delicious. Lazlo, who looked after us, delivered exactly the level of service you expect when paying these prices. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. Credit where it’s due. We also booked two bespoke massages (where we specified pressure/effectively a sports massage) on the Saturday. Unfortunately, this was a major letdown. The therapists appeared inexperienced, and what we received was nowhere near a sports massage. It was light, ineffective, and lacked any real pressure. At £125 each for 60 minutes, we expected skilled therapists capable of delivering the treatment we requested. This simply wasn’t that. Overall, The Pig is a pleasant enough place to relax, but for the money, it was underwhelming and didn’t live up to expectations. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend it at this price point.
