Toca do Coelho - (Near Hounslow, South East)

5 /5 Donald: The ambience is an unassuming cafe but don’t be fooled, the food is wonderful and the service (Bianca) is welcoming and friendly with a subtle twinkling eye humour that Europeans will recognise and feel at home. We had the chicken and mixed grill skewers. The meat was very high quality, perfectly cooked, moist and delicious. It was served with a very good mixed salad, chips and rice which turned out to be a great flavour combo. We ordered a jug of the house red which was Portuguese and very good. We prefer Portuguese wines so no surprise. Bianca thought we’d like romantic English language music but we asked her to restore the Portuguese music which created the perfect atmosphere for us to enjoy the wonderful food. We finished with pastel de nata custard tarts as dessert which were even better than we’d had in Portugal. Needless to say, we highly recommend this restaurant and as we stay in the area regularly, we are coming back soon.

1 /5 Micaela Carvalho: Just terrible. After comming online and looking at the pictures of the food, I ordered 2 francesinhas and a shrimp á’lhinho. Couldnt be more dissapointed. The Francesinha is a typical Portuguese dish who normally comes almsot submerged in sauce. Well, we digged to find ours and still couldn’t find it. The bread in the francesinha was also hard as a rock and the dish was in general very bad Shrimp wasn’t fresh and tasted like weird, so much we didn’t even end up eating it, same with half of the main dish. I also ordered 2 juices, one came the wrong flavour and they didn’t let us know or choose and I ordered a “can” (coke) and they sent a bottle, Luckly I was at home and had a bottle opener. I’m Portuguese myself and so so disappointed. Please do better

5 /5 Andrea Struble: We were staying in a nearby “airport hotel” and went to Toca do Coelho for dinner. Wow! We were so thrilled with our food! As vegetarians our options are often limited but there were at least four appealing choices. The ratatouille was beyond delicious! All fresh veggies—peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and more in a rich and delicious sauce. Such a wonderful way to end a very long slog of a travel day! Large portion, too. The hostess was kind and efficient. Highly recommend this place!

5 /5 Ryan Citynski: The restaurant itself is small and cozy. Great service. The owner himself helps out on the floor. Gave me advice on what to order as I was hungry and wanted to order four different plates!! I ended up ordering the meat mix dish. It was excellent. Huge portions!! I think the price is more than reasonable. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in England.
