5 /5 Issac: After comparing different routes, I found that Red Funnel offers the best value for a return trip for my trip. Driving onto the ferry is very straightforward, with staff on hand to guide you. Once on board, you can relax either inside or on deck. Staying in your car isn’t allowed for safety. About 10 minutes before arrival, passengers are asked to return to their vehicles. The journey takes around an hour, which is plenty of time to have a meal, enjoy the view, or even get some homework done :D. A really pleasant experience overall.

3 /5 Connor Mulligan: The ferry itself is fairly expensive. To the point I heard locals discussing how its killing off tourism and making connecting to the mainland extremely difficult. For this reason itd be amazing to see Red Funnel offer a discount to the locals to make it more viable. However, as a tourist visiting the island. It was fine. To take the car it was in excess of £100 one way. Really no complaints, prices onboard for basic provisions of food and drink were a little high but not extortionate. There seemed to be a reasonable selection of hot and cold food and drink with snacks and tourist gifts. The foot passenger clipper was much faster than the ferry as expected.

5 /5 Richard Renson: The added bonus of travelling from East Cowes is the stunning views. Also, the food is fresh and reasonably priced, seating on deck and inside giving a place to watch the Solent in action. The crossing is like a mini adventure.

4 /5 James McDowell: Efficient, friendly staff. Booking in was straight forward after Id pre-registered my vehicle registration. Drinks onboard were as youd expect. Dogs area of the ship isnt big so if theres a few pets and owners, you may end up closer to others than expected, worth considering if you have a reactive dog.

Pros: Clean modern boats, free Wi-Fi, bar/café, pet-friendly, stunning Solent views, friendly crew. Cons: Prices can sting (especially with car), food mixed, Red Jet bouncy in rough seas.
