St Agnes Church - (Near , South East)

5 /5 Andrew Thomas: A rare example of a thatched church, and the only one on the Isle of Wight. The building dates from 1908 so isnt particularly old, but is lovingly maintained, with information about its history inside. The church sits on a small plot of land which was donated by Lord Tennyson, at the foot of the hills of Tennyson Down. Inside, the timber framed roof, simple clear windows and light stone walls give the church a friendly atmosphere. Theres roadside parking right outside, and the church is open daily.

5 /5 Richard Tubb: What is there not to like? A beautiful, beautiful place with all traditional style interior and stone built, thatched out. Entrance through a porch brings you in from the cold to a warm welcoming old style church with a fabulous open beamed ceiling. Many family orientated plaques around and masses of needlework cushions for when the time comes for kneeling. We attended for a family Christening and the reverend made the whole service upto date and really all about the attending children whilst still adhering to the Christening service. A very warm welcome from local parishioners and a great afternoon.
