4 /5 Sam: Franco Manca was a mixed experience overall.
The pizza itself was very good – interesting flavours and something slightly different from the standard options you see elsewhere. Food came quickly and was of a good standard. The starter wasn’t quite to my personal taste, but that’s more preference than quality.
The venue was extremely loud when we first arrived, with lots of children screaming, which made it hard to relax. It did calm down later in the evening, which improved the atmosphere.
Service was largely excellent. Two younger servers – a lady and a gentleman – were brilliant. The lady in particular was outstanding, constantly attentive and pre-empting things like empty water glasses and napkins without being intrusive. The younger lad was friendly, confident, and professional in his approach.
Unfortunately, the older manager let things down. I observed him touching various surfaces around the restaurant, handling money, and then touching food. From a hygiene perspective, this was very concerning and not what you’d expect in a food environment.
