3 /5 Catherine Fomenkova: I honestly did not like this restaurant at all. We went for the Valentine’s Day set menu and the entire experience was extremely disappointing.
The only thing that was remotely acceptable was the starter. Everything after that went downhill. The beef fillet was just awful — completely cold, bland, and not enjoyable in any way. To make matters worse, the waiter mixed up the steaks between me and the person I was dining with, so I didn’t even receive what I had ordered. For a set Valentine’s menu, this level of disorganisation is unacceptable.
Service was painfully slow. We had four courses in total (including two desserts), and it took two full hours to receive them. For a fixed set menu, especially on Valentine’s Day when the restaurant knows exactly what will be served, there is no excuse for such delays. The kitchen should have been fully prepared.
The staff were not welcoming at all. Our waiter did not know the details of the £45 per person wine pairing set menu and kept mixing things up. Her explanation was that she “did not know the Valentine’s menu deal because her shift was finishing soon.” That is not a valid excuse. If you are working on Valentine’s Day, you should be properly briefed on the special menu being served.
On top of that, we were shocked to receive two desserts without any prior clarification. The menu even mentioned “boiled eggs” in brackets, which turned out to be a dessert — not actual boiled eggs. No one explained this, which just added to the confusion.
Overall, the evening was completely ruined. Poor food, slow service, unprepared staff, and zero attention to detail. Nothing about this experience was good. I would not recommend it.
