1 /5 Lasse: Hot‑Pot Snack Bar: 1/5 Stars
Our experience at this hot‑pot snack bar was disappointing from the very beginning, and ultimately we decided not to eat there.
First Impression – 1/5
Right away, we noticed that the Southampton location does not appear on the chain’s official website, which raised doubts about its legitimacy. For what is supposed to be a franchise, the place looked quite unprofessional and improvised.
Ordering & Payment – 1/5
The only payment options offered were several Chinese mobile apps we couldn’t use, or cash only. No card payment, no common digital payment methods.
Additionally, the woman at the counter didn’t speak any English, so another guest had to step in and translate for us, since we don’t speak Chinese. It was a kind gesture from the guest, but overall it made the whole situation feel disorganized and unusual.
Hygiene & Trust – 1/5
We also had serious concerns about the freshness of the ingredients and the overall hygiene. The atmosphere didn’t inspire confidence, especially for a hot‑pot place where food quality and cleanliness are crucial.
Decision
We weren’t willing to walk to an ATM just to get cash — and given the overall strange and questionable impression — we chose to leave and go to another restaurant.
Conclusion
The hot‑pot snack bar appeared unprofessional, unhygienic, and poorly managed. Combined with communication issues and limited payment options, we did not feel comfortable staying.
Overall rating: 1 out of 5 stars.
