5 /5 Tim DW: Just been to NAMO, a new Thai restaurant on Ship Street in Brightons Lanes. I must say I was massively impressed. Firstly, Namo is different to your average Thai restaurant. Described as Modern Thai cuisine, they serve small plates for sharing, so you choose a selection of different dishes. What we had was very different to your standard Thai fare. (In a very positive way) Everything was fresh, with adventurous, bold flavours. Sharing dishes seems to make the whole experience more sociable and enjoyable than a restaurant where you each have separate meals. Happy we all enjoyed every dish. If I had to choose my personal favourites Id say the Burmese-style braised pork curry and the Southern-style grilled chicken with house pickles, but everything was delicious. The cocktails were amazing. Try the Mekhong Mai Thai (using Thai whiskey) and the Chilli Margarita, both were excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a perfect venue for a wonderful evening. I look forward to returning to NAMO soon.
