What Clients Are Saying Picnic Box Whitstable (GG)
2 /5 Natalia Sherwood: We stopped for lunch at The Picnic Box today after a walk along the coast. The food was fine, but it did not feel particularly good value for the price. I spent just over ÂŁ10 and it felt closer to a supermarket meal deal than a handmade sandwich.
The service from a very young girl was polite but not especially engaging or showed little interest in us, which added to the overall feeling. Unfortunately, it is not somewhere we would rush back to and I am glad none of us had allergies as the member of staff seemed clueless about them.
5 /5 Tim Levey: Ive been a regular visitor to Picnic Box for the last couple of years and have a Loyalty Card. Andrea always has a smile for me and whichever dog I have with me. I mainly have the sandwiches, of which there is a large selection to choose from. They are made in front of me.
The South Quay is a perfect pit stop and my doggies pals love the extra bits they get for good behaviour.
5 /5 Alex Reed: By far the best and freshest sarnie I’ve had in a long time! Tastes unreal. If you’re in the area go give them a visit and show the love! I’ll be back again real soon.
5 /5 Carly Sked: A regular sandwich pickup spot for me and a number of my friends. The fillings are always great and very generous portions. Lovely bread, spreads. Just totally yummy! Never been disappointed. The staff are really friendly too and they now have a really good Loyalty Card where you can get free drinks and crisps, money off etc with each visit. Great little local business which I would recommend to any Whitstable locals, or those visiting the town. A million times tastier than supermarket bought sandwiches and perfect for beach picnics. We will see you again soon for my fave prawn sandwich!
Andrew Wheaton A quiet Monday lunchtime post Xmas, a quiet place but attentive staff, good food and quality drinks.
Would recommend and will definitely be back.
Popsicle Had a salmon royale brioche which was delicious, and great alternative, good choice of coffee offered too.
Staff are all really lovely and friendly here, offering fantastic service, nothings to much trouble. Will be sure to visit again soon.
John Mash Lovely little cafe with top quality food and coffee. It’s a little of the tourist track but well worth making the effort. The sausage sandwich was delicious with high quality butcher’s sausages.
Alexey Subach Both the soft shell crab brioche and the crab sandwich were great. The oysters were fine too but nothing special at all. The portion size was fairly small for the price to be honest. The staff was welcoming but the waiting time was 15-20 minutes which was a bit more than I would expect. Still it tasted really well so I’d be happy to come back
Emily C What a lovely spot to have lunch. We walked from Herne Bay round to Whitstable so were very ready for a rest and refuel. The guy behind the bar was so attentive, food was fresh & delicious and cold pints - what more could you want!
Dog friendly too!
holly stokes-geddes We always get lovely food and good service in Zizzi Whitstable. They have a comprehensive allergen menu and are able to cater to a range of dietary requirements. They also offer great discounts if you download the app, it’s definitely worth it.
