Cory Sakai From a foreign tourist perspective this was a fantastic experience and we were so happy to be able to get our wish of trying a Sunday Roast even though it was a Saturday. The location is cozy and comfortable, with a fitting rustic feel, especially in the bar area. The service was great being friendly, helpful, and prompt. Everybody from the hostess to the manager was welcoming. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our small plates which were plenty for us. It was nice that you could choose which meats you wanted and they carved the portions proportionally for whether you chose one to five meats. The carver was patient and explained the meats to us as well. There were lots of vegetables available for self serve along with the gravy and sauces. All of this for a good value price. Remember to make a reservation because it can get busy, especially on the weekends. Not far from Hilsea train station and about a 10 min walk. Also sign up ahead of time to find out about special discounts. We would go back here for sure!

Vimal Chokoor I just love this place, nice and friendly staff, great south Indian food. Spotlessly clean and orders which are so delicious. The best quick eat will be the chicken dosa which is the best.

Dave Bull One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had. Portions were huge but balanced; meat excellent and everyone gets a Yorkshire pudding. Wife really enjoyed the vegetarian Wellington and kids had half portions for half the price. Can’t say fairer than that!

Gian Marco Nolfi Everything that comes out of the kitchen is a culinary marvel. Even when the ingredients are simple, theyve been prepared and cooked to perfection, backed by what must be decennary experience. Ive come here three times, and Ive had a full English breakfast, an Eaton mess, grilled salmon with roasted vegetables, an apple crumb, an enormous chicken and avocado jacket potato, butter chicken curry and a taste of what I think was their new lemongrass cheesecake - dishes drawing from the English, Indian and French tradition, at least - and everything was just so good that (and its a rare thing in London) I sometimes stopped in order to contemplate it. Ive been in the UK for 8 years, and this comfortably large yet cosy local pub easily figures amongst the 5 best places where Ive eaten. Service was relaxed, but wonderfully honest (discouraging us from ordering more beforehand, since the portions are large) and welcoming. Recommended.

Nicola Ridley We had a gorgeous meal here- far exceeded any pub meal we have had in London for a long time. Could not recommend enough. We had the sea bass, pork with black pudding, creme brûlée and sticky toffee pudding- all 10/10! That, plus attentive service & a very sweet setting.

Between our starters and main courses, we were treated to a selection of complimentary tasters, each showcasing beautiful flavours inspired by Indian cuisine, elevated with a refined and creative culinary twist. This restaurant is undoubtedly our go-to destination in Canterbury, especially for celebrating special occasions. What truly sets it apart, however, is the hospitality. Guests are welcomed with genuine warmth and care, and the service is consistently attentive, friendly, and professional. A restaurant that is worth every penny, and every moment, of your visit!
