5 /5 pete turner: First visit on a wet Tuesday lunchtime in January. We sat at a table by the log fire, rather than the formal restaurant area. Place felt warm and welcoming , with friendly and efficient staff. Food was excellent , I had the scallops with tomato ragu and the bouillabaisse. Portions werent large but both were very good. Will return.

3 /5 Poppins: Lovely ambiance this evening. Wine - highly recommend the Malbec Food - very nice pie and kale and chips/gravy. The chicken tikka masala that turned out to be beef was a ‘hunt the beef’ meal. Just a little disappointing as tasted very nice. Staff: Barnaby - where do I start? Please give him some serious training! For instance don’t remove the menu from our table Barnaby before you’ve taken our order! Know your menu - whether it be beef or chicken or what price it may be ie. the special - Beef tikka masala. Learn what an IPA is and know your available beers on offer! Try to bring out fries with the pie, rather than 5 minutes inbetween. Wait until your customer finishes her wine before removing her glass! Bring two drinks together as ordered together, rather than 5 minutes apart. It’s all about the flow. When customers are finishing their drinks (applies to all staff) allow them to finish them before encouraging them to order their desserts. Don’t attempt to ask us 4?times for our dessert choice after we explained we wished to finish our drinks. It tastes awful otherwise! The Sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie desserts however were excellent.

5 /5 Olivia Mawson: Gorgeous little pub in Winkfield and a solid Sunday roast! Staff were so helpful and friendly and the food delicious - will definitely be back to try their regular menu!

1 /5 Alison March: We’ve had the most disappointing experience here. We arrived at around 4pm to a very busy pub. We thought we’d have drinks at the bar and wait for things to die down. We eventually ordered 2 roast beef dinner.., and were told they were out of cauliflower cheese. Fair enough. After 45 mins… no food.. so we enquired only to be told by the manager there was no beef left and something to do with that and the same order at the same time leading to us not getting our food. It’s Sunday… we’re cross but don’t say anything… after all ‘your meal now changed to chicken will be with you asap!’. 20 mins later still no food. We’re now hungry, hangry and annoyed… so we decide to leave. We need to eat and we have a dog at home. My partner walked out and I went to the bar to pay for the drinks we’d ordered with our ‘non-arrived-meal”. There was absolutely no apology from the manager (blonde lady) AND NO COMPLIMENTARY DRINKS!!!” I paid for the pint and glass of wine. This really tipped me over the edge! We’re regular customers. We know and love Pete and his service standards. We won’t be coming back! All we needed was a sorry and ‘don’t worry about those two drinks’… and maybe ‘your meal is coming out right now - please stay’. Grrrrrrr

1 /5 kala k: We have visited this pub many times and always enjoyed the food and ambience. Unfortunately on valentines day we were disappointed. We were shown to a table, which appeared to be the only table in the entire restaurant without a candle. We asked to move to the table next to us. Im not sure why she seated us at the first table as the pub was very quiet and were the only customers on that area for the duration of our visit. I ordered the salmon starter which was different to the description. There was no coriander just a lot of water cress...it is misrepresented in the description. Our drinks took ages to arrive, we actually had our starter before the drinks. Our main courses were ok! I have had the chicken dish several times as it was delicious but sadly this time it was so salty thats all I could taste. My partner has fish and chips which he said was also far too salty. This used to be a lovely place with delicious food. Sadly the standard has declined and we were disappointed with the food and service.
