5 /5 Thea: Snacks and Ladders has now become one of my favourite spots in newport. The vibe is super chill, the staff are really friendly and welcoming, and there are so many games to choose from!! The food is absolutely incredible here.The burgers here are insanely good – juicy, flavourful. One of the best burgers i have ever tasted. I would recommend the mac and cheese burger it’s amazing- only thing is, it usually sells out pretty fast, so if you’re hoping to get your hands on one, definitely come earlier in the day. Staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful with any games u want to find. The wait for the food is around 30 minutes or so if busy but u can play games for 2£ p/h per person so time goes by really quick.

5 /5 Nick Hunter: Brilliant spot for a bite to eat, drinknor justto on pass the time. A huge (and by huge, I mean massive) range of games. Everything from simple games for younger kids to complex role play or collaborative games. Staff are passionate and knowledgeable about the games and are able to recommend if youre overwhelmed! Theyre also able to accommodate a coeliac diet with loaded fries and pizza all gluten free too. Awesome. Will update when I can add in the staff names to thank them for a great afternoon.

5 /5 Lisa Samuels: Loved this place! I don’t think I could find something to complain about if I wanted to! Lots of games for the kids to chose from of all ages. The food was lovely, staff were really friendly and couldn’t do more to help, even offered to get a blanket for the dog to sit on :) Really nice, relaxed atmosphere with lovely decor, I’m sad I don’t live closer to visit more often, would definitely return or recommend to anyone living or visiting the Island

5 /5 Martin Whiskin: What a find! My (admittedly limited) experience of board game cafés / bars / restaurants has always been underwhelming. They tend to be dingy and just a bit grubby. This was completely the opposite. As soon as we walked in it felt different. Bright, clean, tidy, modern, and a really nicely chilled atmosphere. You can see from the photos the attention to detail in the place. The water works sign for the toilets, the table numbers being references, etc etc. There were so many games to choose from. Our kids found something each time they went to have a look and it was a really nice way to pass the (short) time til the food came. And so onto the food. It was excellent. We had a range of dishes between us and everybody in our group left absolutely stuffed and content! A great concept brilliantly executed.
