3 /5 Kypriopoulla: The pub is not bad as it has got character especially with the real fire but it lacks atmosphere and it didnt had good vibes at all. Found the staff not welcoming, or even rude to some of the customers there. They dont serve no food from Monday to Friday either but they have few cold sausage rolls and pork pies on the bar. The small seating area at the rear overlooking the river was great and the small seating areas. I wouldnt rush to go there again.
4 /5 Dejana Stosic: Beautiful place with amazing view, I couldnt get the menu tho, the service beside the bar is literally non existing and I was in the middle of the day. Out of all food they had only two meals to offer and I waited at least 30 min for it, it tasted okay. Overall I would recommend it, just maybe unsolicited advice to management please print food menues for each table and drink menues with prices.
5 /5 Kate Wilson: I booked the room upstairs for a late lunch for our sketching group - such a beautiful room overlooking the river with fantastic views. Vas was so helpful. We ordered drinks and food as we came in, and were able to sketch looking out of the windows both before and after eating. We stayed well into the afternoon, and had the room to ourselves. My toasted sandwich with salad and sweet potato chips was excellent, as was the non alcoholic ale. A thoroughly enjoyable experience - and so much better than expected given previous reviews. But I understand the pub is under new management. Can highly recommend.
5 /5 Trenton Van Dusseldorp: Have been here a few times recently and have had nothing but a good experience.
In American we would label this more as a dive bar (little run down and seems like more of a local spot) and that is often an appeal to a certain type of people. It’s warn with charm and history and views that are unmatched. We also really enjoy the pub food here. Especially the honeycomb ice cream and toffee pudding.
We arrive early evening and have a drink while waiting for the kitchen to open. Dinners come out hot and delicious and finish our meal with dessert. A beer and pop cost around 11 pounds with entrees near 15 pounds each and dessert around 7 pounds each.
We like the upstairs seating because there are beautiful views of Tower Bridge and the Shard. They encourage no cell phone use and the place fills up around 7pm. Reservations are encouraged as there are roughly 9-10 tables upstairs. More seating downstairs in the bar where there are dart boards and a fireplace.
Bar staff is friendly and always tentative when placing orders. Food comes out in reasonable time and the gentleman running the upstairs is friendly and always checks how on how the meal was.
Read some of the other reviews and while I don’t discount them, I can only speak from my experiences which have been great thus far. Will definitely be back!
4 /5 Alex Cutler: A pub with a truly remarkable interior, only married by the absence of any live cask ales. A Sam Smith pub so a reliable selection of (non-live) ales on. But the interior and the view of the Thames more than make up for the limited beer selection. Apparently Sam Smith management bar video documentary makers from filming the pub - a mysterious own-goal! Plus Google marks the pub as Temporarily Closed which is also wrong and I have attempted to correct. Could be 10/10 with 2 or 3 well curated cask ales.
Abdulkerim Sugaipov Wow! The food is amazing! I had high expectations as the smell and looks were mouth watering and the food absolutely delivered. Had the burrito, tacos and the quesadilla. All absolutely perfect with the hot sauce which I highly recommend picking up with your food. Thank you for such a pleasant meal.
John Piper Our youngest Son was doing a physical assessment at the nearby Surrey fire headquarters, so we thought we would pop in here for a drink.
We had a couple of Cappuccinos and we also shared a "Flib". Apparently this is a bit like bread and butter pudding.
Service was really friendly, we liked the quirky plates, cups and spoons.
Coffee really tasty and the "Flib" was delivered to us heated up and with some cream. Chocolatey and gooey, it was delicious!
Definitely would pop in again if we found ourselves back in the area
Spencer Brooks Fresh tasty food in a nice hotel setting. Steak was perfectly cooked and sides were delicious. Waiter seemed new, was friendly but could have been more attentive. Overall nice evening.
Suman Deep I love their Karak Chaii and I recently started getting their whippy which is really lovely. They are doing 50% off the whippy which I find really nice it shows how caring the boss is of his customers as he knows we love this ice cream!!!
