What Clients Are Saying The Chelsea Pensioners Exhibition (GG)
4 /5 Caroline Crutchley: Lovely little museum close to the Army Museum. Well worth a visit and bump into one of 300 real pensioners on their walkabouts
4 /5 D.A.: A very interesting place to visit; it seems not many people know about this little gem and to be honest, it is not easy to find; however, I also managed to explore the Royal Hospital Chelsea and the Ranelagh Gardens at the same time; there are only two rooms, so you will probably not spend a lot of time here, but it is full of history and interesting things to see and read.
5 /5 Becky T: Well done free museum worth a 30-40 minute visit. This museum is about the Chelsea Pensioners, military retirees that have lived here since the 17th history. It is six rooms, and though small it’s extremely well done. The TV timelines at the beginning and model at the end are particularly interesting as it shows how it has evolved since first created in the late 1600s. The other rooms provided insight into some pensioners’ stories, their uniforms, and other details about their lives.
Practical information: We prebooked but no need - the entrance is not manned and starts through the cafe. Cafe looked nice though didn’t visit.
5 /5 Caroline Griggs: Very interesting museum. Timed tours with Chelsea pensioners available for ÂŁ25p.p
You are only able to wander around the site on the tour, otherwise limited to stable block. Cafe and toilets in stable block. Disabled friendly.
