5 /5 Trese Rowe: Just before Christmas, we popped in here for a drink before a dinner reservation at another restaurant. We were impressed by the decor, ambience and service and a look at their Google reviews convinced us to come back for a meal.
We visited for lunch (walk-in) today and weren’t disappointed. The food is superior to your standard Greek restaurant in that it’s fresh tasting, vibrant and beautifully, yet simply, presented. The menu has a great selection of dishes, including a lemon, potato and chicken dish, which was excellent. My moussaka was a welcome change from the usual versions, which seem as if they have been sitting around for days. Our Greek salad was enhanced with capers and Greek samphire.
They have a 2 course lunch menu for £23, which we thought was great value. I can’t remember the price for 3 courses. However, the wine does seem on the pricey side, with the cheapest red being £48 a bottle.
The staff are charming and efficient and the ambience is relaxed yet vibrant. The ground floor (upstairs) restaurant was full, although there were some free stools at the bar, where a couple of people were eating.
