Casa De Goa - (Near Hounslow, South East)

3 /5 Lewis: I visited Casa de Goa recently after hearing some good things about the place and was really looking forward to trying their Goan food. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere warm, relaxed and nicely decorated. The ambience gives you a comfortable, homely feeling and the staff were polite, friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Service was genuinely very good and that’s something I really appreciated. I ordered a fish thalli ( Prawn & Chonok ), which is priced £3 higher than the regular £9.99 thali without fish. Unfortunately, the portion size and overall value were quite disappointing. The quantity of fish served was very small and the portions of the side dishes that came with the thali were also limited. For the price, I expected a more generous and balanced meal. While I really liked the restaurant’s setting, good service and friendly staff, the food portion and value for money didn’t meet expectations. Casa de Goa definitely has potential the concept, atmosphere and service are great but I hope they work on improving the portion sizes and consistency of their thali meals. With a few adjustments, it could easily become one of the better Goan dining spots around. (Please refer to the attached pictures for reference.)

4 /5 Sandeep Araujo: Lovely ambience. Loved the duo singing. The food was a hit or miss. Excellent thali but some of the other stuff like lepo fry was not fresh... It is a good option for Goan food.

4 /5 Oscar Gómez Hernández: I was impressed with this place. We saw it from outside and automatically called our attention. We decided to try and such a nice surprise. Very nice food, clean, good amount and good prices. Drinks are also delicious. Everything seems fresh and very colourful and varied food.

3 /5 stephen rodrigues: I visited Casa de Goa this afternoon and ordered two thalis: one Chonok thali and one King Fish thali. The atmosphere and interior were really nice, and the staff were polite and friendly. However, the portion size and quality of the food didn’t quite match the price. The Chonok thali especially felt disappointing for £3,(total £13 or £14 pp) as the portion was very small and not worth the value. When I mentioned it to the server, he acknowledged that other customers have also raised the same concern and said he would let the owner know. I hope they improve the portion size or quality because the place has a great vibe and potential.

5 /5 Greta: Came here for breakfast to introduce my partner to Goan street/ breakfast food. Goa is a small state in India but the flavours pack a bold punch. What makes it unique from mainstream indian food is the use of coconuts, vinegar and the Portuguese influence on the cuisine. If you are in the area, you have to try it. They have an extensive menu that covers Goan street food, thalis, indo Chinese food, seafood, pork and beef dishes. Good service and nice ambience. We had the mix bhaji puri- potatoes and white peas curry and puris that’s typically eaten as a breakfast dish… it takes me back to the little cafes in Goa, ros omelette- a popular street food which consists of an omelette drenched in a curry similar to xacuti (coconut based), chicken lollipops- deliciously crispy chicken served with a schezuan dip, and beef croquets- snack made with minced beef. We also had the chikoo milkshake because you can’t say no to seeing chikoo on the menu!
